Bee stings

I recently had a severe reaction to a bee sting. Did anyone out there ever get immunotherapy shots to prevent this reaction again.

I have two friends that did not become allergic to bee stings till

they were in their sixties .....they both had the therapy and it

worked well fof them ...dr.'s told them they should be able to be

stung without a problem....

first you need to have allergy testing to see if you are indeed allergic. then proceed from there

I did go through the bee allergy testing, it was negative

The second you get a bee sting grab the Adolphs Meat tenderizer! Apply meat tenderizer mixed with water to make a paste. An enzyme in the seasoning breaks down tissue, and counteracts the toxic proteins in the venom that causes the body to react. I use this whenever I get stung (lots of hummingbird feeders up and bees love'em) just about every Summer and this WORKS! Do it FAST (!!!!!) as soon as possible after the sting, and that Adolphs eliminates the problem. Keep a big jar on hand and easily accessible!

Thank you... yes, I had the tests and I am allergic.

didnt know how effective, if there are any side effects etc. from the venom injections.

Thank you so much. I am in my sixties too. Never had this problem.

i need to live my life, so I will get them . Didn't know much about side effect from venom.

My doctor said most people don't have any.

My oldest son, Motorcycle Guy was stung several times while growing up, no reaction to any. One day in his late 20's he came to the house on his bike and said he had been stung while riding his motorcycle, on his neck and felt "funny". He looked a little funny and within ten minutes we knew he was having an allergic reaction to the sting. Got to the hospital immediately and he was handled Stat.... he was swelllng up all over and it was singularly the most awful thing I have ever watched and having two boys and several ER trips, I thought I'd been through all of it!

The hospital took great care of him and he reacted well to the treatment. He carried Epi pens for a long time... got stung again years later with no Epi Pen on him and he had no reaction.... interesting, huh? I think it had something to do with being stung right on the neck (artery?) Who knows but I think his body is hopefully immune now?

I blow up like a balloon (at the sting site) when I get stung...the site gets red and the itchy....I just let it run its course.

I was never allergic when I was younger, but in the last 5 years I was in Emergency for a bee sting.

I carry an Epi pen now...

My husband had a huge jellyfish attack him at Myrtle Beach a couple of years ago...a lifeguard wasn't too far away...when he saw DH come out of the water and saw the stripes of stings on his legs, he came running with Adolphs Meat tenderizer.....the commercial size....treated DH right there....it helped a lot...

I've never been stung by a bee. Or a wasp. Or a jellyfish. I'm 61. Is that unusual??

Don't want to tempt fate, but I haven't, either. I'm almost 59.
