Publix Surprise

After my morning swim stopped by Publix Supermarket. Displayed clothing items. Abstract cotton dress assorted colors. Chose white back ground w/navy print. Washed on delicate cold drying on low heat. Love it! Plan going back for more. Incredible price (12.99) Such a deal and unexpected nice surprise.

@Sweet_SerenityI almost always shop at the smallest Publix near me (there are 6, maybe 7 within a mile or two) and I haven't seen clothing in mine. I'll shop at one of the larger stores soon.

A few years ago, I complimented a friend on the maxi dress she was wearing- and she said she'd paid all of 6.99 for at Walgreens! I don't have a Walgreens near me - no idea if they're still selling or at what prices, but I do know my CVS almost always has clothing displayed. I haven't bought any because everything I liked was too long - not worth the tailoring costs.

All of the Publix near me .. in Ft. Myers ... have a section of beach

things and they have dresses and cover ups there ....

Our neighborhood Publix is less than 2 miles from my house, I haven't been in this week, but I doubt they have any clothing, but I'll certainly check next time I'm in there. Yes, I have see cute things in Walgreens before, but only small sizes!

We have 5 Publix stores close to us. None of them carry clothes.

Maybe it is the Publixs near the beach that sells clothing. I am from Lakeland, FL and have never been in a store that sells clothing.

I think a large grocery chain, or even a smaller store, near the beach is very smart in selling beach items, including some types of clothing. I remember seeing them at a Publix in the Tampa area when I was there a few years ago.

Our local groceries sell clothing and other items that advertise our local high schools and colleges, as well as our local and national sports teams.

These are the types of items that can be carried over year after year, so there probably is no loss to the stores.

The Publix store in Holmes Beach carries some clothing. It's mainly tees, sweatshirts and flip-flops. They also sell floaty items, beach umbrellas and assorted beach toys. It makes sense for that store since it's on an island and about a block from the beach.

Two years ago I bought a pair of lightweight capri leggings at my local Walgreen's for less than $10. Loved them so much I went back and bought two more pair....that was the best buy for the most comfortable pair of pants I've found in years! I wore them again last summer and plan to wear them again this year. You just never know what little gems you can find for such a ridiculous low price right in your own neighborhood!

Publix at Grove Park Shopping Center in Lakeland has a display of beach coverups and dresses. They look like they’d be comfortable to wear around the house.

@lulu1lol 6 Publix - and one Winn-Dixie plus Whole Foods and 3 supermarket-sized speciality stores .... those are just the stores I pass routinely. By the way Costco is also within that 2 mile circle as are several smaller produce and ethnic markets.

I know there are lots of jokes about every corner in Florida having a drugstore on it. That's also close to true, but supermarkets aren't far behind. I wonder what we should make of that!
