My sister is still recovering--not from cancer but from the very aggresive treatment they used on her. The reasoning is that since they caught it early, the scraped it out surgically and then gave her both chemo and radiation to make sure they really knocked it out.

Without going into detail, she has to have a 5-hour treatment today; I'm furious that they didn't hospitalize her immediately, rather than wait 24 hours. If this situation goes sour, they may find themselves with a big fat lawsuit on their hands--and this is supposed to be one of the best hospitals around.

I have to see a neurologist today, also, because I've been having headaches that make me feel like my eyes are going to fly out of their sockets and the top of my head will explode. My opthamologist gave me a very thorough examination last week and there's nothing wrong with my eyes. Maybe it's just a pinched nerve or something; anyway I need to get it dealt with; I won't be surprised if I end up with ANOTHER MRI and/or ct scan.

I've had so many MRI's in the last 10 years--not just for headaches but other issues) I'm sure I could run that machine myself BTW, why are these emoticons so teeny? I can hardly see them.

Prayers being sent up for both of you! I hope your sister recovers quickly and you get to the bottom of the cause of your headaches.

I've lost a lot of trust in doctors in general since my mother had breast cancer in 2006. Even though the surgeon said he was "confident" that it had all been removed when she had her mastectomy, both her PCP and the oncologist recommended she have both chemo AND radiation. She was 73 at the time, with a myriad of other health problems (COPD, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure that even meds didn't control well), and I just think both treatments were just too much for her. Her bones became brittle, which they were not before, and she was just generally more "unwell" than she had been before the surgery. She died 3 years later--though not from the cancer.

Oh @FuzzyFace praying for you and your dear sister. Sisters are such a blessing and a best friend all in one. One day I will see my little sister at home above instead of just my dreams. Give your's a big squeeze and kiss. Take care of you dear one.

I too have had SO many MRIs, CT Scans, & X-rays of various types that I must glow in the dark.

Sometimes the best hospitals around are, ...well, I wouldn't let them take a tick off of someone else's dog.

Sending you and your sis good vibtations, I just talked to my sister today who is diabetic.Sometimes these hospitals do stuff that isn't in the best interest of the patient. I can only think it's not the docs, but hospital protocols that they must follow to the letter.

****** Van ****** had severe headaches for many years - until they discovered the problems stemmed from his titanium dental implants. You may want to check with ur dentist also.

I'm praying for your sister, and you! Six plus years ago, my sister was diagnosed with a later stage cancer. Her treatments were agressive, and that's what was needed.

She's doing well today

I was not here on the 22nd when you had posted the news, along with the updates of your beloved sister. I am, now reading through your post over and over. I am praying for the [Ca] to be eradicated , and that her known after effects are usually always worse than the disease.

I understand your beyond love for her.
Miss Lorraine, what I have read is -from this one summary of an entire huge constant worry:
is that __> the aggressive cancer was diagnosed `early.
That is so important to hold onto, now.

Having both chemo and radiation is, too, very aggressive and she made it through those procedures, as she continues to recover.

Her five hour treatment on the 22nd is helping to destroy all reasonable doubt, to the best of their medical ability.
"The rest lies in the hands of God's intervention".

I have often for many years, on many postings, always put trust in Jesus' guiding light, being with each friend, as a force beyond our imagination.
I know and want you to realize that always, God is The Great Physician.

You are very worried as I would be, and have taken this all encompassing horrific illness to a point, that it has affected you. Turn this around and grieve no more. God is at the helm for all of his children.
I can read that within your tears as you wait.

Your friend are here with you, we shall be in prayer and have great joy when the final days of no more suffering ....`has ended, that your sister is whole again with a no diseased body. `
I have trust, so please have trust, also everything humanly is being done.

My prayers continues are now, for all the days I have to pray. I relinquish your troublesome anxiousness over to God, right now.

I will send a message to my congregation in prayer, along with my friends to have your sister in theirs.
There are so many, here, going through these same helpless days.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Sis had her treatment yesterday and feels much better; even her color is better. She has to have two more infusions in the next month or two and, hopefully, that will be the last of her treatments. I don't know if I mentioned it but her treatment consisted of giving her iron, plus two units of blood. She looked better when she got home and was in good spirits. I'm so relieved; I've worried about her nearly every day since she was diagnosed last year.
