Why do I love Amazon?

An amazing selection of items...at an amazing range of prices. Beware. Look for more of the same at different prices, and be careful to check the quantity. You can pay twice as much for one as you could for 12.

Prime. I didn't think I would like it, but that 2 day shipping really makes me happy. Also, prime carries a really good assortment of programing on Fire included with the membership.

Reloadable gift card. It's very handy to shop for what I need without having to drag out credit card info. When I spend myg self-imposed limit, I stop. It took only a month or so to reign in the overspending. If you reload with a debit card, you get an extra 2% added to your account.

Immediate digital delivery. Books and music magically appear.

Free stuff. Some samples give you a credit for the cost towards the same type of item. (Only once, though.) At other times they have offered an item for completely no cost.

Really spot-on customer service. They may not care about me as a person (and why should they?) but they really work at keeping me as a customer.

There are some not-so-great things, like not clearly identifying items shipping from overseas that take months to get here, but they are relatively few...and one of the reasons I look for the Prime designation.

I like Amazon Prime. I've actually ordered a kerosene heater in the morning and received it the same day. A big kerosene heater! I couldn't believe it!

I've never had to pay for anything to be delivered. I've used them often, no complaints.

I will say my friend complains about them at Christmas time. I still don't understand her complaints, but she still uses them because her family requests gifts you can only get on line.

I order my cat's food from Chewy because it is prescription. I just received a huge (40 lbs) of bird seed, cat toys, cat scratcher and on and on. It was shipped out the next day and two days later it was received at my garage door.

The entire delivery must have weighed at least close to 60 lbs. All free delivery.

That's why I like Amazon Prime!

I also love Amazon, and besides the fast shipping, I love the programming on Amazon Video. I watch it more than Netflix. For me, Prime is definitely worth it.

@excpa....I do very little shopping on line and always amazed at the amount of people that shop Amazon, I guess I must not buy a lot. We buy bulk items at Sams and I do not like to order clothing....I like to try on before I buy.

I do buy the filter for our fridge on Amazon but rarely do I find anything that is free shipping so I always move on....doesn't the shipping deter you/or others from just buying local...unless it is an item that must be ordered?

edited to add....I realize that some people cannot get out and shop for it is a great convenience.

Ooooo! Let me count the ways.

I get to buy shoes with free shipping. I get to return them for free if they don’t fit or I just don’t like them. I’m not punished for returning an item by having to pay increased shipping.

I get my stuff quickly.

I really can find almost anything I need!

Did I mention free shipping and returns on shoes?

I use amazon smile and am able to designate a portion of my payment to any number of humane or animal rescue groups. This is also available with Prime which I use and love! Just sign onto smile.amazon.com.

@Mom2Dogs The 2 day shipping is free with Prime, so, no, the shipping cost doesn't deter me from buying local. I live in an "under-served" area.

If an item is for sale.......anywhere on the planet......Amazon has it.

My car has very little trunk space..........so "delivery" is an extra added attraction!!!!!!!

Let me count the ways. Before I make any purchases from QVC etc. I check out Amazon Most times they are lower than QVC and you always save on Q's exorbitant

Also, because I don;t want to go from store to store shopping for small items I just order them form Amazon.

However, it can make it too easy to spend $$$ since it is one click shopping.

One of my DD's buys almost everything there except for clothes, and makes about 60 purchases a month....They give her free Prime which I have never heard of. Thank goodness she has a very good job.

When I'm looking for an item, I compare Amazon and eBay. When all things are equal, I like eBay better. Free shipping w/o the $25 threshold. If you take the free shipping option, Amazon will take 3-5 days to ship. I've had eBay vendors ship the next day.

I started browsing Amazon back in 1996 and made my first purchase in '97. It was DVDs and CDs. To this day Amazon is my go to for music purchases, but I've switched over to digital music. Over the years since '97 I've hit a ot of product cetegories at Amazon. The only thing I can complain about is if you're not quite sure of what you want and do a search the rendered results can be overwhelming. For example: if you search fitness swimwear the results number can jump into the hundreds. I find when I try to isolate certain features I'm looking for such as size, color, price, items which were in the massive search results disaapear from the advanced search even if I eventually discover the item meets all of my criteria. On the other hand, it must be said that if you can't find something you're looking for on Amazon it probably doesn't exist in the US market.

Amazon Prime is a bargain for us. We have a Fire TV stick and watch a lot of the programming. A lot of magazines are free to download with Amazon Prime. As much as I order, the cost we pay for Amazon Prime probably comes to less than a dollar per item, and it's here in two days. Just today, I realized I was low on a lotion that no one around here carries, so I had it ordered in less than a minute, and it will be here Tuesday. Also ordered an expensive Luxury Beauty item, and it, too, will be here Tuesday. Last year, I signed up for the Amazon Prime credit card, got $70 for signing up, and the 5% I get back on Amazon Prime purchases and 1% on other purchases more than pays the yearly Amazon Prime fee. Dog toys, treats, waste bags, household items, some food items...the service Amazon offers is amazing!

Before I order anything, though...I do check other online sites for price comparisons--Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Petsmart, etc. If the brick and mortar stores are lower in cost, I get the items there.

My only complaint about Amazon is the Asian size clothing. I am very careful not to buy any clothing that is not in American sizing. Their (Asian) size large, x,xx,xxx size is about a medium for me. Otherwise I love Amazon.

I've been an Amazon Prime member since 2002 and it keeps getting better and better. I cannot imagine life without Amazon...especially my Prime. I ordered a gift for a friend, totally forgot it was her birthday. I placed my order at 11am yesterday expecting it to be delivered sometime today and they delivered it last night at 7:30 pm. I'm finding that I a getting same day delivery on an increasing number of purchases. I love that I can find everything and anything my hear desires on Amazon. Sometimes, it feels like magic. I haven't had any issues with overseas purchases. I try not purchase from them but every once in a while I do but my experience has been that they tell you it will take 8 or 9 weeks to get the item but it takes 2 or 3. I've never had to wait long at all.

Love, love,love Amazon! 95% of the time they have the lowest price. If I see something I like online, I check Amazon first to see what their price is. Fast, free 2 day shipping and fantastic customer service. Their variety of items can't be beat. We have been Prime members for many years and don't see us stopping our usage of Amazon any time soon. We haven't used it for music or movies as of yet. May give those features a try. Amazon Prime has been a great addition to this family's shopping habits!
