How Much Do You Pay To Have Your Hair Done?? Addendum to Previous topic

Now that I am looking for a new stylist, I am interested in how much people pay for each service or combination of services. If youi feel comfortable list your state or area of the country since I find prices can vary quite a bit.

I pay $90 for dying my roots and a blow dry. Blow dries are $30 when done alone. If I get my hair cut at the same time which I do every two months, the total cost is $125.. I believe hair cuts alone are $60

I live in Massachusetts, about a 20 minute drive from Boston so I know the price reflects that. One time I went into Newbury Street in Boston and the cost was $100 for a haircut and another 25 for the blow dry that comes with it. Trust me, my hair did not look any better.

Just today, I've decided against any perm for awhile. I can and have and will be cutting my own hair. So I'm saving some money. It'll get to go to jewelry if I can work it out. LOL

I am completely white/gray and I have short hair. Every 5 to 6 weeks, I pay $25.00 for a hair cut plus tip.

Wow. Well, I am in Arkansas. I pay about 20 bucks for a dry cut and style. I give usually give them a 5 dollar tip. The beauticians here don't seem to want to wash it, cut and blow dry. Some still do that, but the ones I have gone to act like they would refer just to cut it dry.

I will tell you, I would gladly pay twice or three times what I pay, if I could find someone to do my hair like my old stylist did before she started having personal issues.

And I read your previous thread about changing stylists. My old one use to be pretty much on time. Then she started running behind. Then it was one in the chair, one waiting and me. It just got worse from there and she was rushing through my hair.

I feel your pain. I hope you can find an awesome stylist that you love. I have not......

Now bear in mind , I live in a small community, and I go to a 2 person shop. Every four weeks, I get a trim and color for 42.00, and every 4 visits I get highlights for 62.00. I know I would pay more in a larger area, but my stylist does a great job, and I get compliments on my hair from strangers.

Fantastic hairstylist! Imo true talent. My style short longish differcult explaining. Love!! My stylist!! Takes me not even ten minutes style. Cost is 25.00 including generous tip. We have become close gift presents frequently. She worked magic with my mane of thick hair. By the way! Grey Sistar!! Love my Grey locks.👵❣

Haircuts etc. have gotten way out of line. I have short hair with some highlights which helps my fine hair manage better for me... Last week I walked out of the salon and my bill was $175.00... This is getting outrageous... I don't get paid that much per hour or so but we are stuck with these salons charging so much.. Then with the tip and give the girl who washes your hair the bill is now $200... I don't look like $200 when I walk out... Most places where I live charge prices like this so I am stuck or let my hair grow gray...Tired of so much money for everything....

To be honest, I have no idea but I do know that I am getting a deal. My niece has her own shop and she charges me 50.00 for a color, cut and blow dr and style. I keep telling her that I will pay what she wants if she would just tell me but she keeps saying "you are family". I always give her a decent tip.

I'm in East TN and pay $100 for a cut, highlights with foil and blow dry. I give her a $20 tip. I go to a small salon with three stylists. I used to go to a much more expensive salon and am just as happy with this one. I've gone to her for about ten years now.

I live in the Dallas-Ft Worth area and pay $140 for hair painting (+20 tip +5 shampoo tip) every 10 weeks.

Every 5 weeks I get just a cut 45 + 20 tip. I love my stylist/my friend and she is REALLY GOOD.

I live in Chicago suburban area and go to a mid-range salon. It costs $55 to $65 for a color touch up, plus tip, plus another tip to the person washing my hair. If I want a blow dry (without cut) its an additional $15. A cut costs between $45 and $65, depending on the stylist, plus tip. When I get it cut, I do not have to pay extra for a blow dry. If I go every 6 or 7 weeks, its getting a little pricey. A few times I've gone to a beauty school for color touch up; it costs $25 plus tip and they do an excellent job matching the color.

I pay $120.00 for single color processing, haircut/trim, including a wash with the color and a blow dry. It's a rather simple bob cut and I have thin hair so it doesn't take very long to cut. I live in Northern Virginia outside of Washington. I found a great stylist in an Aveda salon. I am fortunate. I just divorced my 15+ years stylist. She ran late all the time, called me sick pretty often and it became very trying to reschedule with her on those occasions and heaven help me if some man had an appointment simultaneously or previous to me - very little attention paid to me (figure that out ha!). Tried the boss in her old salon, who left me in a chair waiting for her twice about 45 minutes each time with no explanation. She did a great job, but kept lecturing me about "style" and where I was lacking - in addition to the previous sentence. So, after leaving two in quick succession I have found Brenda who is a keeper. Good luck to you with your pursuit of a great new stylist.

Edited to add: Forgot tips the first time. Stylist $20.00, shampoo person if there is one that day $5.00. I know I'm not the greatest tipper.

I live in the Minneapolis area and go to an Aveda salon. I pay $55 +tip for a haircut (shampoo, deep conditioner, blow out). I color my own hair with products from Sally Beauty. Otherwise a single color at my salon is $90, and more for highlights. I go every 5 weeks.

Oklahoman here. My beautician charges $55 for trim & foil lowlights/highlights. My hair is shoulder length. Usually takes her a little over an hour or so. Just a trim - she charges $15.

I know I have a bargain for where I live. I have short hair and I pay $40 every three weeks to have wash/wear hair. If I go longer than three weeks I have to mess with it. It takes her less than 1/2 hour to wash, trim and blow dry my hair. She is very busy and I have to schedule way ahead.

I am in Westchster County NY, my haircuts are 70 with a blow dry, blow drys are 30 on Mon-Fri and 10 dollars more on the weekend. Roots are 70 for a whole head and 40 for a part only and hi lights are priced according to how much you get

I am in L.I., NY............my salon charges are around the same as yours......i get highlights also...and it is about

the same amount for the highlights, cuts, blow dry.....and then like you say ....once you hand out tips...it is alot more $$$$..............

DFW...$55+tip for a cut from my long-standing stylist.

Don’t get the coloring, but I would guess it’s the same range.

I pay $80 for a root color, cut and style in Tulsa, OK. I don't know her other prices because that is all I have ever gotten done.
