Thank you, Bernie, for the December Bird's nest. It's really chilly here in the 30ies and I am shivering here in the house, wearing a sweatshirt and the furnace running. Guess a thermal shirt under the sweatshirt is my next move.

My daughter, GD and the baby are on their way over. His first visit to great grandma. Hard to believe he's a week old already.

Hi Bernie, It's been kind of a busy weekend for me as yesterday I did a few things around the house and then drove over to my daughter's home, about 30 minutes away, and spent the afternoon and early evening there. We got some Christmas decorations up and "played'' with the baby. He's 10 days old now and is kind of attentive to the Christmas tree which changes the colors of the lights over and over. We went out for supper to Ruby Tuesday's and he went along with us. So different from when my kids were little.

Today my brother and I went out for breakfast and then made a stop at Rural King. I picked up 100 pounds of black oil sunflower seed and 40 pounds of mixed seed. Then the fun began when I got home and had to rearrange all of the bird barrels to fit all the stuff I'd bought. Took quite a while and a lot of muscle use. Didn't help my bad left knee much, but I did get done and then put the water warmer into the big watering pan so the water won't freeze this coming week. The weather guy says we'll be getting wintry by Tuesday evening. The pan has had ice in it already this year, but it was thin enough for me to break it up. When the temps get to 19 or 20, it's too thick and I want it available for the birds, cats, possums, and deer.
