Panda - Yes, I checked on the Q and saw 2 items that would work IF a person could lay on top of it. I submitted a question on each item asking this because I didn't see in the description whether you could or not.

Thanks for your response.

Heated mattress pads are designed to go on the bed, under the sheet, and I have had one on my bed for nearly 5 years without any problems. I would not recommend laying on a regular heating pad. My husband fell asleep in his recliner, in a semi reclined position with a regular heating pad against his upper shoulder. The heating pad was pressed into the recliner, which resulted in the pad overheating, scorching the chair, and giving my husband a severe blistering burn----which he did not feel, due to diabetic neuropathy! The chair was so hot it was smoking, and close to catching on fire, and my husband was sleeping right through it. Thankfully our daughter was in her room getting ready for work and came out to see what was burning, only to realize it was her dad. The black scorch mark on his T-shirt, and the recliner looked like it had been burned with an iron.

I have purchased 2 of the warming pads from QVC. I believe they are made by Sunbeam. The cost was around $50. I love this product but disappointed that after awhile parts of it stopped warming. Thus, I bought a second one. I have had this one tooless than a year and have the same result. Love the warm feeling of the product, just don't feel the need to replace it every year.

I got one a couple of years ago at COSTCO. I love it! It's a Sunbeam. It keeps me warm and I don't have to turn on the heat. It's functionally like an electric blanket for one, delegated a "Throw".

You can always do a google search for "Sunbeam electric throw". It will come up with a "shopping" search to click on. It will tell you where you can find one.
