Christmas Decorating?

Now that Halloween is over, when do you decorate for Christmas?

I think I will do that this weekend.

I dont have any decorations for Thanksgiving.

Usually start on Black Friday while shopping on line, of course.

This year I am not hosting Thanksgiving and will be away from home all day Saturday, (including shopping at a Q outlet) so I will start Thanksgiving week. Hopefully I will have finished cleaning the garage and basement by then!

I have Christmas decorations up year-round. I edit, and add, all the time.

I try to incorporate all the themes of each season - the Christmas stuff is not exclusive.

I have tons of decorations for every season...it's been a bit of a problem for me. Ha! Today I will remove all the things that are Halloween related and bring out all my turkeys and such. I absolutely will not decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. I respect (and love) Thanksgiving too much to do so. LOL!

I don't know how or why anyone would skip right past Thanksgiving and the remainder of Autumn and go right into Christmas. As if Thanksgiving means nothing. Like it's not a great American Holiday to be celebrated. We enjoy Autumn, we celebrate Thanksgiving. I don't do any Halloween decorartions; I do fall so the leaves and pumpkings and gourds stay up through Thanksgiving. I wouldn't serve Thanksgiving dinner with the house in Christmas mode...lol That would be weird. We decorate for Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving and take it down on January 6. We don't rip it all down on 12/26 the way some people do. I don't understand that either since the Christmas season lasts through Jan. 6.

I will decorate the Friday after Thanksgiving! I will probably leave it all up until maybe Jan 1st......No longer though, because by then I am tired of it all and want my house back to normal! But I do love to decorate and I love the Christmas atmosphere, but not before Thanksgiving-never before!

I have really nice harvest/ t-day decors that stay up until Dec, then I put my tree up. Thought it was funny (?) that some of the hosts were kind of dressed up for halloween and then seeing a decorated Xmas trees in the background. A little disturbing and really hated it, actually.. They need to wait til October is done, IMO of course.

I make up for what I missed out on as a child- so yes, my Christmas decorating began as soon as the Halloween goblins were taken down and stored away last night!! I am as giddy as a child !

We start ours the day after Thanksgiving. Take down all the storage tubs with the decorations and I decide what I am using that year. I change up some of the things but some have to stay the same or family is disappointed. Later that day or the next we go pick out a tree. They put lights on for us and then flock it.

Ready to decorate in about 2 days.

It gets taken down sometime during the first week of January.

We usually decorate on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year we're going to be traveling, so I think we should put up the decorations before we leave so it will done when we get home.

I don't really decorate much for Halloween. I have one wooden witch I put on the front porch.

I decorate for fall and those decorations will come down the day after Thanksgiving and I will start putting Christmas up then.

I absolutely don't want Christmas up before Thanksgiving.

I spend the day after Thanksgiving decorating for Christmas. By that time I am ready to take down the pumpkins, general fall and Thanksgiving decor.

I put my fall things out usually right after Labor Day, and I really like the things I've accumulated for fall, so they stay out through Thanksgiving Day. I do no Halloween decor, just fall. The only nod to Thanksgiving specific I have is a couple of glass turkeys and they come out with the fall things in September.

On Black Friday, instead of shopping, I take down and store all the fall things, and begin to clean the main floor of the house very well. On Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, the decorating occurs, sometimes it spills into Sunday, but the goal is to get it all changed over and storage put back before Monday.

I often set up the tree, but decorating it often comes later when everyone is available to join in and do it as a family.

Me usually 1st week of December.

Stores: last night 12:01 am 11/1

I went to WM this morning I saw a cute Elsa but expensive costume for my GD thought I'd surprise her when she come here tomorrow. Nope - gone was any sign of Halloween at 9:30 am!!! Replaced with all Christmas things even out front the poles were wrapped & holiday lights up in parking lot!

Then to CVS - yup same thing there

JCP - completely decorated and complete with Christmas music to shop by! (I went to the store that is neat & lots of sales staff).

Then tonight I see on TCM "It's a Wonderful Life" is on

too early for me😉

We put our tree up two weekends before Christmas and take it down on the 26th.

The religion I grew up with didn’t observe Christmas season to the Epiphany. And we considered it bad luck to leave the tree up into the new year.

Two weeks of decorations is plenty for me.
