Security Breach at Kohls?

I wasn't sure where to post this.....but wanted to let people know. I just got an email from Kohls telling me I should update my password. I didn't go through the email....I closed out and went to their website and changed my password.

I've never gotten this kind of message from them before, and am wondering if they had some kind of security breach that made it necessary.

If anyone has an account with them...you may want to change your password, just in case. Hopefully it's nothing...but you never know.

@alicedee I got the same email. I think you're supposed to change passwords every so often, anyway, and they are just reminding customers to be cautious.

@smoky22. Yes, I thought of that....it just struck me as odd because in all the years I've been with Kohls they've never sent me that kind of email before.

It is so difficult to protect ourselves from thieves these days.It used to be that someone would rob you for wallet or jewelry but that was the good old days....now you don't even know that you are robbed until you have a big mess to clear up.

They made me change my sign-in info. a couple of weeks ago before I placed an order.

I did not receive the email but I changed my password. Thx for the info. Have not bought anything from Kohl's in a while.

Got it but never click onto to any attachment when I get these. I went to their website and chanced. Creepy.

I got that email today too............wasn't sure what to do

and just ignored it.....................was thinking if it was a phony email.....they obviously didn't have my password as of yet.....but if i changed my email....they would have my new one........................not sure what to do....

@kelsey17. If you decide to change your password, just don't click to get to the site through the email that was sent. Go in through your browser, and then follow the directions to change your password from there.

No matter who you have an account with, you should always change your password on a regular basis.

Please DO NOT post this for everyone to read unless you call Corporate and ask if this is true.

I just called Kohl's Corporate and that e-mail is NOT from Kohls, it is indeed "SPAM"

@makena I guess shopping at b & m paying with cash is still safe ?

The cashiers look at me strange when paying with cash. I rarely swipe anywhere anymore. Too scared ! I still enjoy going to the mall when I need something quick and it's still fun, even though I prefer to shop online, and only use a credit card. Never debit card.
