I put it on my new Male Golden for the first time yesterday and OMG! !!!! Right out the door he was walking next to me NOT PULLING OR ANYTHING. We had a nice long walk for the first time!!! He had no issues with my looping it over his nose. It is not a mussle at all. It just gently pulls him in to the left and somehow keeps him from pulling and walking infront of me. I would never have believe it until I tried it. The reviews are almost 100% five star reviews. I bought mine on my favorite dog web site.. CHEWY.

I was just so amazed how well it works that I had to share with my other dog lovers

I bought one a few months ago for my golden puppy, Mercy. She's 7 months old now and it has helped so much with taking her for walks. She's stopped pulling. The trainer at her puppy obedience class is who recommended it to me. I had never heard of them before that. She even took on off the shelf, fitted it on Mercy and helped me walk her around the store getting used to it. Then she whispered to me to order it from Amazon...1/2 the price as PetsMart. I've recommend it several times on the boards to others who are having the same issue.

Many people who do not have dogs, think that this collar is for biters. They react differently to some dogs who wear them, which is sad.

I have seen this but only on bigger dogs. Does it work also on smaller breeds? I have 2 peke-a-poos.

While the method will work, if they have small noses getting a proper fit will be a challenge. There is a one harness type that the leash attaches in the chest area which also works well.

My neighbor needs something like this. Her dog, a cocker I think, is very strong-headed. We joke that he walks Joanne, rather than Joanne walking him.

We use it with our almost two yearold golden. But in the last month or so she hasnt needed it. She has been just using the easy walk harness. It made a world of difference. She seems to have learned now and doesn't need it.

Right now we use a harness that the leash attaches in the back. At least it isn't choking them like their collar seems to do when tugging on the front of their little throats.

@Sassy7356 Go to Chewy.com and read through the many many reviews....perhaps the will have a review for using in small dogs. They have several sizes....see if they make one for little dogs.

@ccassaday I think over time the dog will learn to walk well without it.

TY very much for posting about this! I did look this up on Amazon, and I think it did come in different sizes for different sized dogs.

I haven't gotten it because Judah, the Yorkie is home. We were talking about dog napping him for a weekend.

The strange thing about Judah is that every time I reversed direction, he walked nicely by my side! (I felt like we were ducks in a shooting gallery!)

One of my dogs always pulled when walking and I also read about how using a neck collar to walk your dog isn't really good and can cause damage/issues with their neck and throat over time so we changed to the Sporn harnesses. I tried using the over the snout thing for my dog that pulls but he hated that thing and rolled and rolled and rolled on the ground every time he had it on. It tooks us 10 minutes just to start walking, lol! Anyway, this thing has been a godsend for our dog that pulled and also just for a safer way to walk our big boys.

This is very true. I actually had to explain to my parents that a dog that we encountered that had one of these wasn't because it "must be a biter" but because it most likely was a leash puller. They had no idea. The few times we used it we got that same reaction about it meaning our dogs must be viscious, especially since we have dogs that are huge (135+ lbs each)- it really makes people thing our dogs must be aggressive.

I do not see how a thin material on the nose would look like a muzzle? It is centered way above the mouth....by the eyes. It is not even close to a muzzle. There are some dogs I see when I am out on a walk THAT NEED TO BE MUZZLED. Totally not trained and out of control

Most of the time it's people who know nothing about dogs who think it is a muzzle. We tell people nope it's not going to prevent you from getting licked to death by our golden lol. It's just been the last few weeks we haven't used it. Our dog wasn't a huge puller. But with just the easy walk harness she was all over the place. There is so much geese poop at the park also and this kept her head up so she wouldn't try to eat it.

I use Thunder Leash, it wraps around the body, quick and easy on and off.

The light blue patterned leashes are the older variety, the new one's are solid color and work a little better, it seems like they "beefed" up the clasp.

They make the "shirts" for scared animals too, fortunately I don't have a dog that gets scared of thunder.

@HappyDaze I have the other kind of Sporn no-pull harness that just has the loops that go around the front legs and everthing gathers up between the shoulders - think it's called a "Yup". It doesn't have a chest pad like this one. Can yours be used as a car harness too? We currently have a Kurgo harness for car rides, but it's starting to fray so I'm shopping for a replacement.

@JeanLouiseFinch I don't think so. Here is the back of the package and I don't see anything about it being used for anything other than to walk. I really like this harness because of the netting chest part so my dogs don't get too hot (most have a solid piece instead of the netting) and the soft coverings under the leg pits so it doesn't chafe them.
