As @Kachina624 said, please do get the vet to check it and do a biopsy. I hope that it is simply a skin tag. Our vet thought that one of our pugs simply had a tag or mole but upon doing a biopsy he found that it was a malignancy. Hoping that your precious furbaby simply has a benign tag.

I noticed a month ago, my dog had developed a tiny skin tag under the base of her tail. I bathed her yesterday and looked at it and it has grown, say from the size of a pin head a month ago, to the size of a pea. It is pink and looks like a skin tag.....? Has anyone ever had a dog develop a skin tag?

Yes, they do... I've been watching a tag on my 14 yo Westie for a couple of years now. My groomer found it on his ear. Just to be sure I took him to the vet and she confirmed and advised to just watch it. So far so good... and I hope the same for you and your baby.

I would get it checked at the vet's asap, that's a fast growth so better safe than sorry.

It's very common for older dogs to develop skin tags, just like humans. Most of my dogs developed at least one as they aged.

However, they don't normally grow at a rapid rate. If you're concerned, have your vet check it out.

Get it Checked. as others have said that mass really is growing fast. Please Don't wait until it causes your pup irritation or pain. It may be too difficult to remove by then. Better safe than sorry.

My dog had a tiny growth on his ear. The vet said it was a wart and to leave it be. A few months later, it had doubled in size (about the size of a pea). I didn't like the fact that it was growing so back to the vet we went.

The vet still didn't believe it was anything to worry about, but we had it removed for my peace of mind. Plus, as I recall, my dog was starting to scratch at it. She had it biopsied and it turned out to be nothing.

She was able to remove it without putting him to sleep and the whole procedure only took a few minutes.

I will say, however, it was close to $700. Still, I was glad to have it done and to know that my dog didn't have cancer. It has not grown back.

Good luck to you!

edited for spelling errors
