Cat food different?

I have noticed that my cat is not at all interested in her usual delectable food. She walks up to it sniffs and walks away. This has been for at least a week. There seems to be what I assume is a national shortage of cat food. I buy her usual favorite Fancy Feast and have ordered from Amazon also. I have spoken to other pet owners at my grocery store and they are saying the same thing.

What is going on? Maybe changing the ingredients to something less costly, not sure but something is different.

Someone asked this a week or so ago, but yes I think something is up. My cat eats FF wet grilled varieties (for 5 years) & is walking away from the dish from time to time in the past couple of weeks.

We have had a real hard time finding ANY wet cat food locally. I am on Amz a/d, but they cancel it from time to time also & so when I see it on the shelf, I grab what I can but only what I know she likes. I'm trying to keep track of what flavors she is walking away from.

I haven't noticed any change in the cat food. Sam devours his Friskees Shreds just like he always has. Both local grocers that I use both have good selections available, and don't really show a shortage that I can see.

My cat eats Fancy Feast classic seafood pate and even though she is eating normally I have seen a change. The pate is not as smooth and often seems to be a bit on the dry side. The smell is also slightly different.

Fortunately, between Chewy and Amazon I've been able to keep enough on hand to wait out the out of stock messages. Forget the local supermarkets.

I get my canned from Petco. Haven't noticed any changes in how the cats eat them. Sometimes particular flavors are out of stock, but so far no shortages here.

Their dry food I get from the vet because they are on prescription urinary formula. I mentionted something about a shortage at the vet and they said they had currently only had shortages in some specific prescription formulas, but luckily not the one I use.

My two get a tablespoon of Friskie Shreds every morning along with a bit of dry. So a can lasts 3 days for the two of them.

But it was slim pickens all through last year finding the Shreds, luckily I stocked up when I could. I now have enough for for several months. Luckily the exp dates are in 2023.

I have very carefully, very gently been introducing a few variations for Bogey's morning meal options. He gets the same Tuna every night, so his diet isn't thrown into complete turmoil.

I just have seen too many instances where I couldn't get what he likes, so I'm broadening his repertoire ... hoping this makes him more flexible to trying new things in case shortages get more frequent.

Call the manufacturer and ask if there has been a change in the formula. Yes. There is a shortage of different flavors. I get my monthly supply from Chewy, and even Chewy will notify you when they have something out of stock. My cats are very particular with the type and brand they eat. I have a main coone and only eats dried pellets (no pate or can food at all). Good luck. If that doesn't work, please call the vet.

I switched our cat, Hazel, from "Friskies" Seafood Sensations to "Blue" Sensative Stomachs (pink bag) sometime last year since she was throwing up every now and then. Since being on "Blue", no issues. I do give her a spoonful of Fancy Feast pate' about twice a week.....She will stand by her wet-cat food bowl when she wants this.....

Yes! My vet recommended I feed fancy feast but I never know when a carton of my cats' favorite one will be devoured or avoided. I've wondered ...
