I keep these in a container, most are from Linea WK sweaters, but rarely do I have need of them, and I can't remember when really.

I've been looking at the new fall fashion, in stores, online, in the September fashion magazines, and noticed all the very feminine tops and sweaters and long dresses that have tiny pleats and details. I realized I had an ivory colored Linea sweater A268141 from last fall I absolutely love that has these pleats and details!

But....I remembered as well that although it fits me perfectly and I have worn it, I was always uncomfortable with the way the button-front closure tended to pull between the buttons, a bit of gapping even thought the sweater was not in the least bit tight.

So....I rummaged through the little zip loc bags and found the ivory yarn in a baggie that came with the sweater (and a button too), threaded a needle and hand stitched the front placket closed between the buttons with a blind hem stitch, stopped at the second one down so I could unbutton it one button for ease of getting on and off, and because sometimes I like the top button undone.

Now it is PERFECTION! Absolutely flat closure, looks amazing, and I know I will be wearing this much more often as I won't be looking down and wondering if the gapping is happening. I am so glad the matching yarn was included!

This was an EASY FIX. You don't have to be seamstress to do this, but of course a tailor could do it for you as well. Now I have a very current top that will have new life.

Last week I did a similar repair to the new lace-back sweater, A273301. When it arrived and I tried it on, I noticed nothing wrong at all. But later when I went to wear it and turned in the mirror to see the back, there was a 2" slit in the lace by my shoulder. It looked like a perfect scalpel cut, not the lace coming apart.

Yes, I could have returned it and had QVC replace it, but I got out the navy yarn, still on my dresser, and carefully sewed the lace back together by hand, and it too looks perfect and undectable. I will wash it inside out and maybe by hand to be gentle with it in the future.

Just wanted to mention that I have been tailoring and mending and taking wide sleeves in, shortening sleeves too, so that these things are perfect for me. It's so worth the effort!

I,too, am a collector of those little bags of yarn and buttons. I try to mark them with a Sharpie with the item number, but often forget. I've rarely had the need to use them, but just having them tucked away in a safe place gives me peace of mind. Especially with WKs, I plan to have them for a very long time.

I think it was just luck I found the one I needed immediately and it was the correct match.

Marking them as blinddogs said is a great idea and I'll do that from now on, now that I know I may need them! These sweaters do last a very long time and it's peace of mind knowing that small repairs can be fixed and there is an extra button too. So nice.

Such a smart move on that sweater, because even though it's a cardigan, I can't think of an occasion when one would ever wear it that way. I, too, have all my complimentary thread in a "sewing box" because you never know when you might need some for a seam, however unlikely.

I keep them too thought I honestly have NEVER had the need to use it.

Love the solution of closing the gaps and have done this with several cardigans that I like to wear as tops, but I use Stitch Witchery or No-sew fabric glue for a super quick and easy fix.

As a result of the rebirth of this lovely ivory cardigan, I ordered another one but in black today!

I watched the video and realized I have nothing like this and it is so very in style right now and it is also so very MY style that I can't let it get away. I shall tack down the front placket when it arrives. I have the WK black midi straight skirt and the two together will look fantastic for just about any fall/winter event.

Plus worn with boots and skinny jeans, another favorite look of mine, more casual.

Oh, yes, I've been ordering the new stuff too. I always stock up in the Fall Collection as these are the clothes I wear the most and like the most too.
