Truth in reviewing, please

Recently I came across the 3800.00 Ripka iolite bracelet. Three 5 star ratings, I thought, this must be a good one. (Just in case I win this week's lottery, I want to be armed and loaded) One prolific reviewer, who generally writes articulate and honest Ripka reviews, gave this bracelet 5 stars, then went on to say the stones were all black and didn't match her ring. She sent it back. So no way in my book does that warrant 5 stars.

I read what people write rather than look at the 'stars'!! And sometimes read inbteween the lines as well! With any category of purchases.

Truth has nothing to do with it. Ratings are always subjective and someone else having a different opinion or ratings system doesn't mean the person is being less truthful. I've seen people give 5 stars to things that gave them horrible reactions and were sent back, to shoes they say didn't fit, and all kinds of things. Likewise, I'd seen people give 1 star reviews to things because an item wasn't the color they expected or didn't fit in the space they had in mind, so it was returned.
