In 2010, Mizrahi launched a label called IsaacMizrahiLIVE! exclusively on QVC.[10]

In 2011, Mizrahi sold his brand to Xcel Brands, Inc.[11] In addition to continuing the IsaacMizrahiLIVE! business on QVC, Xcel Brands is launching various categories under the Isaac Mizrahi New York, Isaac Mizrahi Jeans, and Isaac Mizrahi brands. As of August 2012, footwear and denim have launched in Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom, and Mizrahi's first ever fragrance, Fabulous, is set to debut September 6 on QVC, and in Bloomingdale's in October. Thank you! I was wondering why he was on tv, but it is as a personality. Makes sense since some items he seems surprised by.

And a few times doesn't know the correct color names.

You would think a "designer" would know the color names of his/her designs!!!!!

In a word, No, he doesn't design the clothing bearing his name. He has assumed the role of what is called a "talking head", which means all he does is talk.

Sorry but I beg to differ.......I have heard Isaac many times when a cardigan was being presented, state "that when he was sketching this design". So I think there are many of his items, especially his cardigans, he does, in fact, design.

@Luvtoshopathome. We'll have to agree to disagree. It's all too obvious that Isaac has never seen his clothing until it's rolled onto the set. He apparently cares so little that he doesn't even peek at it before the show. He obviously prefers to wing it.

I'm glad this was brought up. You are right that Isaac is just a salesperson,

or as @Kachina624 mentioned a Talking Head about the clothing line bearing his name. When I realized this, it was a little disappointing. A little smoke and mirrors. But then I asked myself, why does it matter? If I like something, I guess that's all that matters. But once again, it just reminds me of the whole true meaning of QVC----sell, sell, sell.

The personalities are just sales people like any salespeople.

Probably does some of the designing, but not all of it. He may pick the colors for a new season of plain T shirts, and then all he would do is approve them....

Where there's smoke, there's fire. The fact that we acutally have a post about this brings to question about Mr. Isaac. truly designing his clothing. We NEVER question Susan Graver. At least she designs her own stuff in addition to wearing them.. Does nothing else but yak is another matter to post about.

There is a long time between when a garment is designed and when it is presented on air. And, in that time, the designer is working a year or so ahead. It doesn't surprise me for him not to recognize something from 2 years ago!

QVC names the colors. The hosts often state that they would like to be on the "color naming" team. They cannot have a lipstick red in 3 designer lines.

All the colors named the same have to match. Isaac would have to learn the QVC name for the presentations.

It appears the Q has a very bad habit of getting rid of, or giving limited exposure to the real designers ... George Simonton comes to mind, as does Bob Mackie (I saw him on one of the shows recently) ... Also, Louis Dell'Olio gets a miniscule amount of time compared to those mentioned below.

Brands, such as Mizrahi and Logo, Halston, LCNY, have morphed into "house brands," and seem to be designed by committee. That's okay, though, if what you find in these and similar brands ( such as D&C), are what you're looking for, in terms of quality and design. They're just not for me, though.

I don't know about you, but on air the way he talks he gives me the impression that he indeed designs everything he sells.

Lisa Rinna on the Real Housewives and talked about her QVC experience. Nene showed on the Real Housewives behind the scenes at HSN and how she "designed" her lines. The real designers are in China or a team from the shopping channel.

If I was the spokeswoman or designer, I would be prepared when I was selling on QVC. I would love the job!

It's been reported many times Excel hires teams of designers to design. Isaac takes credit for everything he shows at the Q, saying "I did this and I did that." He's doing nothing but taking credit for others work and taking money from you the consumer who thinks they're paying for an IM custom design.

His watches; his shoes; his jewelry; his cosmetics; his home decor???? Come on, wise up to what you're paying for!
