Very disappointed to see that QVC did not bother to put "Merry Christmas" on their website on Christmas Day.

it is not only Christmas Day, it is the 1st day of Hanukkah. This is a greeting that is very appropriate.

@Blessed in NM I agree with you, today is Jesus's Birthday and his name is in Christmas. I am tired of the whole Happy Holidays stuff. When someone says that to me, I reply back with Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas on this specific date does not include everyone, so I can see not using it.

Adding from 'our family' does seem a bit much.

The use of " Happy Holidays " is meant to convey a sense of Inclusion as opposed to Exclusion.

As one poster has pointed out there is the first day of Chanukah. Then included are the days of Kwanzaa, the Winter Solstice, and others from around the globe, etc.

Welcome others and be welcomed: that is the spirit of "Christmas" embedded in Happy Holidays.

I think it is appropriate for a Business to say Happy Holidays.

Those who celebrate Christmas themselves, by all means, wish a Merry Christmas to one and all.

I myself am happy when someone may wish me a Happy Hanukkah. Share the Love.

BUT

Not everyone celebrates the Christmas season. Some have other faith. Especially when the Date of other Faiths celebrations coincide, for a large company which more than likely employ people with a variety of Faiths, Happy Holidays is fine by me.

There are 11 holidays in December. It's not all about just 1 holiday.

I know why I am Christian and I don't need some retailer telling me anything or wishing me Merry Christmas to make me happy.

Diversity, tolerance, compassion, and understanding that God loves everyone, no matter what holiday they celebrate, is a key point in the Bible. Jesus loved Samaritans, Gentiles, Jews, and non-believers. We should too.

I happily reply to Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, or any other holiday with the identical wish. I'm not going to intentionally be rude to anyone.

@CalminHeart We are each entitled to our own opinion without judgement, to celebrate and call today whatever we like or believe. Neither has anything to do with being rude or excluding. Growing up, this was never an issue, and people celebrated it their own way. People are free to call it whatever they like, but it has always been Christmas to me because it is Jesus's Birthday.

@Blessed in NM QVC is a business and should stick to business. They have no business need or obligation to wish us anything. I am fine with that and wish more businesses would go back to business and quit telling us how we should live. QVC among them.

So I find it good that they didn't weigh in on what is a religious holiday for some. It's ok by me.

Yes...and most retailers have hijacked Christmas to make millions of dollars from a Christian holiday. Can I say, they don't have the decency to wish Christians a Merry Christmas?

@KittySoftPaws Were one to REALLY be understanding and respectful of the Man and the day, one would say "His" name Not "his" name when referring to Jesus.

It's always been Christmas to me too. But then I grew up and realized the world wasn't all about me and what I believed.

Jesus didn't exclude non-believers, Gentiles, Samaritans, etc and neither should we.

Call it what you want. I call it insensitive and disrespectful to demand the other 10 holidays this month be discarded. After all, we are all working toward the same thing.
