Hello Fall - August 2024 Edition

Well, I certainly made up for missing the beginning of this!

Valerie's 10 p.m. show has been fun! I bought the harvest wheat teardrops. I also added the Hay and Harvest shatterproof harvest wreath. I thought it was different and will look nice on our front door.

It's interesting how I try to decide on something, then something else comes on and I don't even think twice!

@JudyL - You will have so much fun putting it around! I will too! I usually wait until after Labor Day - not sure I'll make it this year! LOL!

I can't wait to sit here at night when the house is quiet and look at those pretty pumpkins on our mantel!

@JudyL - I hear you! But I really have good luck with batteries. Most of the time I don't have to change them until I'm taking them out at the end of a season.

DH has a battery check thing, so I usually put them right into something else!

@JudyL just for overall battery use i buy batteries in large quantity from Amazon. I have a battery caddy that i use. That really does help store and inventory.

After the holiday season i remove all batteries from anything that was seasonal before i store it. I load with fresh batteries when i put out to decorate.

I watched more than I thought I would--but stil not alot and it was a nice change of pace. But I didn't buy anything--I have alot decor for fall that I love , so am happy with that. The TSV was nice tho.

I really like those Hay & Harvest wreaths/garlands. I have two front doors so I resisted on the wreath. Although I could probably put one wreath elsewhere inside.

The harvest one was really pretty and elegant looking, but I couldn’t help wanting the Halloween one. Colors really popped! But it wasn’t practical enough to get for $60. I decorate more for harvest with only a few Halloweeny items.

@LizzieInSRQ - Thanks for the tip re Amazon. I buy so much from Amazon but have never thought about buying my batteries through them. I also have one of those battery storage boxes. Will definitely buy batteries from Amazon this year.

I bought two battery cases with a strengh detector in them from QVC two years ago. So perfect for storing my only partially-used batteries. I gave them out to family members as Christmas presents, too.

Unfortunately, I don't see this particular product still listed so it must have sold out.

@crazycockermom - I can see how that particular wreath might be a little much for two front doors! You are lucky to have them! I'm sure you'll find wreaths that look beautiful side by side.

I never intended to get a harvest wreath, because I already have one, but the squirrel sold me! LOL!

I made our Halloween wreath over twenty years ago, and we still put it up. But I was tempted by that one too!

I second buying batteries from Amazon. They do have sporadic pricing just like many of their items so it's good to look thoroughly.

They have a Panasonic C Battery 24 pack for $19.64, .82 each which is lower than their Amazon Basic
C Batteries.

They are in retail 2 pack packaging which I actually like/

@beach-mom I bought the teardrops also to go with the brancheslomg stems of the same bought at zulily a year or so ago, they look great in vases along with other branches/stems.

As much as I thought they were beautiful, I did not order Valerie's recent Starry Night pumpkin TSV & matching gourd.

I have a small house & have so many gorgeous things from years past, so I try to pick one (two ???) new items & limit it to that. Of course, that almost never works LOL!!! Great in theory though!

This year I picked Val's checked & embossed pumpkin set & I must say I am VERY IMPRESSED.

Nice weight, nice coloring, nice texturing........

Decent size but not too, too big.

Great together in a grouping or separate.

They are sold out now. Hopefully, more will come in but I realize probably not this year.

Choice of black, green or orange.

I had a tough time choosing but I ordered the orange.

Anyone else order these beauties???

All my Fall purchases have arrived and I am so impressed. Love the Starry Night Hurricanes so much that I'm thinking of ordering a set for a friend for her birthday as she loved mine. The wreath is so gorgeous and I love it! Looks great on my door. I put my wreaths on the insde of my front door so I can see and enjoy them. The 4 pumpkin pics are fabulous! The quality of everything is excellent. Still waiting for the lanterns which were on an advanced delivery.
