Cute Valentine lights

I ran across these heart shaped lights at joannes. I still had a small tree in the bathroom that I over looked, so I put them on the tree. When I see them it makes me smile and brightens that little corner. There's only 10 lights but perfect for small things.

Since taking Christmas decor down I wanted to do a little bit of something to cheer up the house so I did a little valentine on the mantle.

I made one wreath for fun. It was supposed to be heart shaped but not quite so.

Your V-day decor is really pretty but thank goodness I'm safe from you at least until Easter. I haven't even finished putting Christmas stuff put away since I'm cleaning closets and getting donations ready at the same time.

I’ve been trying my hand at mesh wreath making for about a year or more . I enjoy it so much. I think my hubby is afraid to set still to long for fear of me putting a bow on him, haha!

@ladycos : Absolutely gorgeous.....I counted at least 8 different type of ribbons you used in this wreath. How in the world did you hold all of them together? Thanks for sharing.

The background of the wreath is made from mesh. The wash was a two tone mesh of red and pink. Then you cut ribbon in 12 inches to make what they call tales . Tie the tales in around the wreath. Then add the bow. I usually make 12 to 16 loops in my bow. But this is a funkie bow where the tales help fill in behind the loops.

The mistake most people make in bow making is they try to hold the bow in between their fingers , That's to hard. I just hold them in a stacking motion between my thumb and fore finger. Much eaiser this way. I usually use 4 ribbon patterns. I think I ran short and used five on this one.

@ladycos : Yes, you are over my head but the result is gorgeous. Is there a site where I can learn how to do this? I had bows/wreaths made a few years ago (high $$$$), and I would like to change them out. Have a great a day!!!

I learned from utube videos. I watched several tutorials on making funky bows and other bows. There is a lady that has a YouTube video to make funky bows her name is Arlynns country craft corner. She has a funky bow tutorial. You can also just go to YouTube and put in (how to make a bow) in the search bar on YouTube and it'll bring up several tutorials on different bows. If I can do it anybody can do it. Just be sure to share with us your pretties!

Don't get discouraged just keep trying, it will come to you.

I'm still learning things each time I watch I see something that I have not been doing or something that I should do. Good luck please share your progress.

Thank you for the nice compliment.

I use the wire frames. This one was heart shaped. You use pipe cleaners or also called chenille stems to tie the mesh on and some of the ribbon tails

You can purchase frames at any craft store or Walmart and sometimes the dollar tree. I usually use a 12 to 14 in. frame.
