Wrapping or gift bags??

I enjoy the wrapping after I find the tape & gift tags to get it done, I wasn't having a good day dh said just use the bags, oh no you unwrap it. I am lucky to just have DD, B/F & their dog but if I had a huge family I may go into the bags. Dollar tree has nice paper & even have hallmark paper too. I will even use leftover paper to wrap stocking stuffers. They laugh cuz I will wrap anything up. Are you a wrapper or bagger? I understand either way.

I certainly do not like the bags and ties they sell on QVC. I like working with different color tissue paper for small packages. I can make a rose and its leaf for a pkg. I don't like stick on bows either. I also like the brown wrap you use to mail pkgs. but use for gifts and then use beautiful ribbons, add flowers to it, etc. Martha Stewart always had good ideas for wrapping pkgs.

i use a combination. i wrap some, i bag some in regular handled holiday gift bags, i use the gift bags from qvc, i use gift card holders, i use wine bottle bags, and i even use reusable tote bags, i purchase lots of tissue, ribbons, and bows and try to get them all at the END of the season.

when i was in retail, i learned quickly how to just wrap the tops of boxes easily so that it is a nice clean look and so that the boxes can be reused.

Target has lovely wrapping and bags. I also pick up some Hallmark. I like a colorful, beautifully done display of packages sitting on and under the long glass table near the Christmas tree and around the tree as much as I enjoy the tree and the other decor.

Christmas was a reason and the holidays a season. When we get past the original reason, there is Santa for the kiddies. The children's eyes are so beautiful when they see wonderfully wrapped presents. Something about that I love as they first see massed, gift-wrapped and bagged packages.

I use to wrap everything but now I gift bag it ..I buy all my bags at the Dollar Tree.

I never could wrap. So I bag it! Before I discovered bagging, I ~~was~~ (still am) an expert at wrapping using aluminum foil.

Back in the day, I'd prefer to wrap them myself. Now, 'father/mother time' makes me turn to the gift bags that QVC sells. I only wish that they would do a set with only large bags. Most of the bags they have in the ones they sell are small and useless for my gifts.

It's alllll about presentation! I do both. I love the look of painstakingly wrapped gifts along with cute gift bags under the tree!

I gave up wrapping this year. I got nice bags at Target and ribbon at micheals and multi color tissue. Hang tags to tie to handle. Makes nice presentation all tied with ribbon tissue and hang tag. No tape no scissors.

When I am giving gifts outside of immediate family members, I tend to use gift bags as I think it looks more festive--- and my wrapping is not the best! At home, I use primarily wrapping paper. If the gift is large or a strange size, I will use a bag.

I was never good at wrapping gifts so I think bags are a great idea. If I were one to buy stuff for people and had to wrap at this season, I'd for sure buy the set of bags sold here - there's a great amount of them (50 I think), all sorts of sizes, a ribbon to tie them up, beautiful designs. Well worth the money I think.

For the majority of gifts I wrap. There are so many beautiful papers for wrapping, just can't help myself at times and buy lots. For large, oversized gifts those go into big gift bags with tissue paper. So I use both, but mostly wrap

I wrap boxed items, then go to the Mylar drawstring bags bought on the Q, (love!) and lastly I use gift bags & tissue paper.

Gift wrapping is a chore I dislike, so I have already gotten it out of the way. Today I will bag a few gifts purchased or delivered yesterday. This year I will be using up most of my supplies left over from last year and will re-stock at after-Christmas clearance prices. Just had to buy 6 or 7 bags of various sizes. The large ones are expensive! The smaller ones were bought at the Dollar store.

DS has some physical trouble gift wrapping so he and DDIL do bags exclusively.

When the kids were little everything found under the tree was brought by Santa and had to be wrapped in Santa paper! I bought a mega- roll from Costco. That roll of gift wrap lasted for years and years!

I wrap, unless the item is unwrappable, like a wine bottle. It's more fun for the recipient to open a wrapped gift than a bag, which has no drama at all.

I prefer the look of wrapped packages...but time wasn't on my side this year, and I used mostly bags. Amazon sold a set of 12 for around $10...coated plastic type shopping bags, with cute Christmas prints....I used those for my children and grandchildren..I know they will reuse them, and they have to haul them quite a distance to get home, so I wanted sturdy bags.

I used to love wrapping gifts, but my back can't take bending over for long periods of time anymore. Nowadays, I only wrap presents that won't fit in bags. I use both conventional and Mylar bags.

I can wrap beautifully. I have no tape showing and no seams except on the short end sides of the box. I use real cloth ribbon and make homemade bows.

But, I no longer give out many gifts that need wrapped. Most of my gifts are cash. I really like the beautiful paper bags, stuffed with tissue paper. I don't like the look of those cheap plastic printed bags with the draw strings.

Anyway, today, wrapping paper is a waste of money...it's so expensive and sad to rip it off and throw it away after one use.

I usually gather up the gift bags, fold them and reuse them for gifts or something else. It makes more sense to me to use paper gift bags. I have a huge stash of them, recycled from years past.

I grew up where Santa did not wrap gifts, so it is not that exciting to me to unwrap a gift, especially a beautifully wrapped one. I keep thinking about wasting the beautiful paper.
