What is the difference between Waitlist items and Advanced orders?

I think advanced orders are guaranteed to be shipped; just at a later date. No such guarantee exist with waitlist orders.

When you make an advanced order you know the date the item will be mailed and your account debited; you are assured of recieving the item in the color you wanted.

A waitlist item means the item is out of stock and they may possibly get more in, but it's not guaranteed. You will recieve the item IF they get enough for the orders ahead of you as well as yourself, the price and postage offered will remain the same. You won't know the date your account will be debited unless you constantly check on the item under your order summary.
