TSV (CIJ) Luminara set

Not at all impressed.

Just plain boring.

And to create some real impact with varying sizes, would cost a fortune to buy multiple sets..........for boring smooth candles in wierd shades (several of them).

At least they could have offered a set with one of each size.

This is CIJ, couldn't they do any better than this?

I think the colors weren't meant to be holiday colors. There are plenty of those. But I do agree about the sets offered. Unless you're specifically looking for one set in one size, it would be expensive to create a look.

They look so thin and flimsy. The colors are boring, they run on C instead of the usual D batteries, and they just look silly on VPH's new pedestals. It's going to be a long day of looking at those every hour.

Not impressed either. I guess if you really LOVE Luminara and wanted to give them as gifts it would be fine, but meh.

I was hoping they would bring back their lighted candles you can put on a tree from two years ago that they sold during their CIJ. I know I can now buy them on other places on the internet, but I was hoping they might bring them back and put them on a sale price.

I remember negative reviews when the 3" diameters first came out. People felt the Luminara quality look was lacking. My mom now has them from as-is, and they're nice and work well, but are basic in style.

I thought we'd be seeing the 360s in the 3" diameter by now.

I just don't see the value of this TSV, but others may see the value and have a need for them.

@RazorSharp, I'm watching Jim Shore and just saw one on the set, on Valerie's new pedestal. I agree, not a good combination, because the pedestals are too wide.

I watched the initial presentation last night and they kept referring to putting these on the Valerie pedestals, even showed them like that a time or two.

It looked so bad, with that thin candle on that fat pedestal.

Add the right ring, and it might pass, but it really felt like Jane was grasping for straws last night to convince us how wonderful this TSV is.

Really like that the top of the candle is not flat but the flat solid wax look is a problem, I am intrigued by luminara but my CI candles that are 3 inches and flat wax look cheap.

Thanks everyone ... I was ready to order the 6 inch candles but, after reading these posts I realized how "skinny" a 3 inch candles is ..... I don't think it will look good on a sizeable pedestal so, I will not be ordering them .... have a great day!!! 😄

I agree with everyone's analysis---NOT IMPRESSED!!! Since the candles come with a timer, I would have preferred to just use the timer making the TSV more affordable instead of including the remote which added a $10 charge per candle. Didn't like the colors either

I would have purchased if they were the 360 candles. I have a friend who loves gray and she would love these. Gray is a "hot" decor trend now. I will wait !

@ripka junkie, My mom would have gotten the 4" ones if they had been 360s. She uses the VPH original set of 3 mercury glass pedestals down the center of her dining table, and they are slimmer, so a better fit to the TSV, but she doesn't want the candles with the hi-lo top rim.

@Mominohio @SHOPR I agree, I thought the TSV looked rather odd with Valerie's CIJ pedestals I prefer the regular size candles with pedestals this size, that's what I use and think they look just fine!!!

I have Valerie's pedestals from a former purchase as well as lots of luminara. I don't care for them together, either. I went to our Goodwill Store and purchased a bunch of different items to use as "lifts" so that the candles could be staggered in height. I agree about the remote. I have some that came with some other luminaras and never use them.

I would have rather seen the luminara set of two with the snowflakes that are on sale price as the TSV.

I would have liked the TSV if it was a 3.5 base.

@missxmas I purchased the snowflake Luminaras. They are on advanced order, and it looks like they ship next week.

To me, a good Luminara pillar candle will have a 3.5 inch diameter. If you're looking to start a collection, I would look for this diameter, and sets that include 5 and 7 inch ones that are under $50. That would be a good price point.

Wow, watching the Luminara presentation right now and the Rep just trashed the specific features of the Candle Impressions candles. I REALLY hate that type of marketing. She just lost a sale to me on ANY luminara products from QVC.

I would suggest if you have no moving flame candles at all, that a look at the Mirage by Candle Impressions sold on here would be a consideration for you as well.

H205807 is a great set for such a wonderful price.

I have them now in four colors, and can't say enough about how much I like them.

The wax is lovely with the mottling, the programmable timer is the best, choose the number of hours instead of what the company thinks is sufficient, long battery life, much more than other companies.

I own many Luminara as well, but I think the Mirage are a much better value.
