Does Anyone Collect Boyds Bears? How do you Store Them?

I have several collectible Boyds Bears, mostly the large 16" size, but I don't have the original boxes. I need suggestions on how to store them -- is a cardboard box best? Or maybe a plastic see-through container? Should I put a dryer sheet in the box? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a bunch of them, they are the small and medium- I have them in a basket and once in awhile I put them in the dryer on the air cycle to get rid of the dust, however I would love to sell mine, just don't need to keep them any longer- I would make sure you store them in air tight containers

I have 3 BB's I actually kept and I have them sitting around my house. I vacuum then on occasion, but that's it. If I had loads of them and didn't want to get rid of them I would put them in a large plastic container with desiccant.

The ones I have left I shake out on the deck. Sold most on Ebay. Saved my favorites.

I have five small bears. A couple are dressed in bunny suits....they get stored with the few other Easter decorations in a cardboard box. One in a Santa suit gets stored in a canvas tote with Christmas decor. The others sit in a basket. Sometimes I spray them with Febreze...that’s it.

If you have a lot and want to keep them all, I would maybe store in pillowcases. Seems like they would need to breathe a bit?

I have many, I have them out for display/ Yes they get dusty .. I have a small soft brush and I clean them that way. I have the one where the two bears get married.. we used that on our wedding cake.. it was a small wedding but it was perfect for a three layer cake

I also have many, maybe close to 800 of the resin, and 50 of the plush. Mine are out all the time I have 10 cabinets mine are in , couldn't stand to part with any of them. I just love all of mine. When my husband and I went on vacations we hit every store to pick up new pieces, my husband is gone now, but the memories of each one are still with me. Which Gary was still with Boyd's, he got very sick and had to give it up.

About five 12"-18" bears and one cat are in a curio cabinet on my bedroom dresser. I also have a few scattered in a couple glass front book shelves. Their cuteness still brings a smile to my heart.

I gave so many of them to Goodwill and Salvation Army. What did I keep? The #1 of a glass Christmas ornament, some bears, some resin ... Those were wonderful shows - such happy and fun times.

I have a number of Boyds Bears and thinking of giving them all away.

They have been "in storage" for many years. It's a shame.

I'm in the process of decluttering my home and they are on the endangered list. As much pleasure as they gave me when I bought them, they are just dust catchers now.

I hear you @Witchy Woman -- I use mine for seasonal decor; I put the little ones in my lanterns with Luminara candles. I have a 4th of July 13" bear on an antique chair, and of course I display the Christmas bears under the tree or in Valerie's sleigh. My hope is that my great nieces will want them in the future, but who knows. At least they like to play with them now when they come over. Letting go of things is really tough!!

I was just going through my stash and bagged each one in a gallon size plastic bag, then dropped them in a large clear trash bag for an upcoming donation.

The only ones I kept are the Halloween themed ones since my birthday is Halloween.

All others are going out. It made me a little sad, but they have been in storage for years now. What's the point of that? I'm hoping they will find loving homes.

I enjoyed them when they were out, but I just cannot abide all that clutter now.

There are no little ones in my life or future, so....

Yes, those were happy and fun times, weren't they?

The shows with Gary and Mary Beth are what got me started buying them. He was quite the character, but could sell like nobody's business.

QVC had a live show with him one year and I tried, without luck, to get a ticket. I was so disappointed, I cried! I know it was silly, but I had my heart set on seeing a live show.

Thankfully, when Gary left, I stopped buying. When I was bagging mine up today for donation, I was embarrased to see how many I had! I said goodbye to each one and kissed it. I know, nutty. But, it was a happy, carefree time in my life and I was "feathering my nest" in a new home. They used to sit everywhere at one time.

I've kept my Halloween bears, but that's it. They have a place to sit in my collection case for Halloween items.

And, they are precious!

I used to sit the small ones between Christmas presents under the tree. It was so cute! Then we got a dog that paid more attention than the former dog did. Even putting bears in a wooden box under the tree didn't help.

The bears were put up!
