Calling for lots of fingers crossed! 🤞

When I got new carpet earlier this year, lots of things were moved, organized, and put away in different places.

Now, I can't locate my favorite little silver tinsel tree that always has a place of honor on my living room coffee table during the Christmas holiday season. I've looked all morning. It should have been in or near my big box of decorations, but for whatever reason, it wasn't there.

If anyone would like to think good thoughts and cross their fingers that I find it, please feel free. Many thanks! 🎄🧡

my house was recarpeted in June 018.

still finding junk that was put away just to get it away some assemblence of order.

All I can say is I hope you find it before Christmas.

Too often I buy presents and find a great spot to hide them. Only to find them after Christmas.

I don't know if this will give you some inspiration and encouragement but I recently just decorated after moving and could not find my angel that lights up. I looked everywhere and its not a large space.

Then I opened a cabinet and had unpacked it right in there!

I was looking for a box but after moving I didn't put it back in a box.

So look in places you might not have put it. Some out of the way place while you were trying to get everything moved.

And I'll send good thoughts

@GingerPeach OMG! I just clicked in for a minute and saw your post! I am the poster person for lost ummm....stuff??

My friend organizes my house and puts things away for me (bad back). Anyway, I'm constantly calling her asking her where things are.

Finally, here's my point. In my family for a very long time we have a saying we use and (belief it or not...) it often works.

Here's the saying, (you must repeat it over and over). "Saint Anthony come around....something's lost and can't be found". St Anthony is the patron Saint of the lost.

But the theory of why it works is because the entire time you are looking for something.....your brain is 'sending' instead of 'receiving'. That's how and why you could be looking right at something and still not see it. You know, like people who pull out in front of a car and swear the car, "Just came out of nowhere". That kind of thing.

We've used this for generations and passed it on to others. Just Thanksgiving week I was sitting up front in the plane (going to Denver) and I heard the stewardess say she couldn't find her phone. I told her to use St Anthony. She gave me a puzzled look but she said, "It is a company phone and I must find it....I'll try anything".

Maybe 1/2 hour or earlier she came over to me and whispered in my ear, "It worked......I kept saying it in between serving the drinks and stuff.....and it worked! I don't understand it, but thanks, I'll always remember you and St Anthony". Ha!

So, there you go. You don't have anything to loose (trying it, that is). It's worked for me and my family more often than not.

I haven't been posting on here in awhile. But you are so sweet, I had to tell you what works for my family through generations.

Again, the theory is that it reverses the brain from sending mode to receiving mode so you will recognize the item and not continue to overlook it!

Kinda makes sense.....maybe. Take care sweet girl.

@Annabellethecat66 I grew up with asking for St. Anthony's help for misplaced items, too.

Has never failed me. In my family had to ask out loud and then when the object was found we were told to say "Thank you, St. Anthony." Hope you are well. Have a healthy, happy Christmas.

You ladies (and St. Anthony) are a powerful bunch! I FOUND IT!

It was in what I call my attic (an upstairs, slant-ceilinged storage room), tucked away behind a whole bunch of boxes and bags. (I think my DD must have stashed it there. I take no responsibility!)

@GingerPeach Yes! That's what we are talking about. (I just said "Thank you St. Anthony" out loud.) So glad you found it. It is a gem of a tree and I like your choice of such pretty ornaments that to my eye look in scale for the tree's size.

It must be almost ten years old by now. It's very small but holds a big place in my heart and home. It's definitely retro! (Not its actual age, of course, but as you said, the style.)
