There was a thread on here a while ago about shipping with Charlie Bears. I read that some of the bears would not ship to certain states. I live in Ohio and just tried to order one of the bears and they said it would not ship to Ohio and could not give me an answer why. I have ordered 2 other Charlie Bears and received them and am very upset, but the CS rep (2 of them) could not tell me why this is the problem. Can someone tell me again why it is I can order some of them and not others? If a Customer Service rep is here please let me know.

@luvmybeetle. If you'll read some of the threads on the subject, I think one mentioned the reason being stuffing made of a flammable material that was excluded by law.

Yes, a Moderator looked into it, and the stuffing was the issue. They said to check out some of the others which can be shipped to your state.

Thanks, I looked back and found it was the laws. It says Ohio asks the manufacturer to pay for licenses and I guess Ohio won't do that. PA is the only one that requires the stuffing to be non-flammable. Since I have ordered 2 previously and received them I assume something is different in each bear. I can't believe it.

I like the Charlie bears - but have too many bears now. It seems they are all on clearance, so QVC might be discontinuing them.

@luvmybeetle, so sorry to hear of the shipping problems to Ohio because they are such adorable bears. I have one myself, and I was just looking yesterday at all of the newbears that have just come in.. some in Mohair now, just gorgeous!

@Effie54, I think what you're seeing is a sale price for the Charlie Bears and since the line is so new and well loved I'm sure they'll be around for quite awhile to come.

It's so refreshing to see a Teddy Bear line return to the Q after all of these years! I have quite a collection and most are packed away, but it reminds me that I should get some of them out and enjoy them again. It also reminds me of my dear mother and how we used to shop at a Teddy Bear store in town (which has long ago turned into a restaurant). Love the memories that Teddies evoke!

I'm glad to see Q bring back some things from the past like this as well.

I had quite a few bears back in the day, but trimmed them down over the years to just a few. I only like ones that look very vintage, and I just place one or two in some specific areas and vignettes around my home.

Even though I'm not in the market to buy any bears, glad to see them back, as Q needs to broaden the variety of their merchandise, and this is a nice step.

I sent an email to the Charlie Bear company and they answered that the reason Ohio can't receive the bears is because of their label. The full ingredients is not listed well on the label and Ohio has requested they change their label to include everything in the bear. Charlie Bears has just done that for Ohio but it wasn't enough. So when Charlie Bears fixes that, which will most likely be around the first of next year. I HOPE SO

I received my Audrey bear and she is just the cutest thing! She has rose colored curly fur and a cute fur collar and key. When I opened the box, I knew I'd selected the right bear for me.

Note that the carton she came in is her actual box so for those ordering, be careful cutting into the box.

If these bears were cute and not cheap nd sloppy looking with a hefty pricetag, it would be nice. Sell Stieff for the same prices and unbeatable quality and mny more people would be interested. Not all Stieff are mohair, and many that are not sell for under $60.00

Oh @Shogirl, Audrey is sooo sweetand I can see why you chose her. I just love her rose colored curly fur, too! (Hope you don't mind, I'm including a picture of Audrey)

I spent most of the 90's buying teddy bears and artist baby dolls. Most are packed away but like the other collector said, the memoies they evoke make it all worth while! It was a wonderful time back then.

Hi Shopgirl, Don't feel bad as I too have no clue how to post pictures. What amazes me is my 5 year old granddaughter can! I am such a dinosaur and about all I do on this thing is shop.

Thank you, dooBdoo, it is so nice to "meet you too"! I just love the fun of collecting things that are special to me and that has always included "babies and bears" and countless other collectibles. I hope my three granddaughters will one day enjoy my collections as much as I do.
