St. Patrick's Day

Aside from a red and white tablecloth and table toppers I dont decorate for Valentines Day. However, I always loved St Patricks day (and I'm not Irish) Love the corned beef and cabbage, lamb stew, the few Beleek piceces I have, going to little Irish pubs. This year bought a pretty Shamrock tablecloth. Anyone decorate for St Paddys Day?

That sounds like fun, I may check out a St. Pats table cloth too. I usually make Irish Soda bread and Colcannon to celebrate, no Irish in my genes as far as I know.lol

I decorate for St. Paddy's day about as much as I decorate for Valentine's Day. I have something for my front door that says Happy St. Patrick's Day and I have a couple of kitchen towels that have shamrocks on them.

I make colcannon and Irish soda bread too. Never had Shepards Pie - may make that if I don't have it out!

I don't decorate for St. Patrick's Day, though I am of Irish descent. I do try to have a Guinness Extra Stout and watch the parade down the streets of New York City on March 17. I like this holiday not only because of my heritage but because it's a no-pressure holiday. You can make of it what you will with no obligations. It also marks the beginning of true spring weather where I live. At this point in March even if it snows it doesn't stick around more than a few days.

I will put up my wreath on the door and bring out my favorite little candy dish. Hmm, maybe this year I'll put carrots in it instead of candy.

I have a Blarney Stone cookie jar with a gold coin lid. I use it to

hold my gold......I wish. It holds spare change.

I'm buying a shamrock tablecloth and shamrock paper plates from Dollar Tree.

Maybe I'll also buy some flowers for my belleek vase and put that on the kitchen table, too.

I never decorate for Valentine's Day or St Patrick's day. I'm still tired from packing up Christmas decor when they come around.

actually I do put out the few belleek pieces I have and buy green carnations

I make the brown - to me it's so much better than the white.

I have a St. Patrick's Day Angel plaque ---the angel's dressed in green with shamrocks in her hair and she holds a shamrock....and I put this on my front door.....

I do have a small Belleek cat candy dish has a couple of shamrock's on it and I put that out.... that's' it for St. Patrick's Day for me....I'm not Irish but I do enjoy the Q St. Patrick's Day shows and sad that they've shortened them more and more each year.........I have purchased earrings, embroidered linens, Belleek, a Waterford vase and a cookbook from these shows over the years.......

@poohbear1 - it's made with whole wheat flour, white flour and wheat germ so it more closely resembles the Irish wheat flour.

I had it one afternoon with tea while I was in Ireland and never went back to the traditional.

I will eat a slice of the white on occasion, but not really fond of it, most of them have to much baking soda in them and it makes my teeth feel weird!

@CelticCrafterI have made both and I prefer the white with a meal and the brown for breakfast.
