Missed All Valeries Shows !!! Just Got Back In Town !

We went to NC Mountains to pick up out new puppy, German Sheppard 7 weeks old. So I have some new home decor!

Oh boy! A new pup! Hope your energy level is up!!

That should be fun, much more fun than any old VPH shows!

In my opinion you really didn't miss much. For me, the harvest shows were quite a let down after so much new Christmas in July stuff.

Glad you are home safe, and enjoy the new puppy!

@Mominohio, I had forgotten how much energy it take for a new puppy. I have not had a inside puppy in 10 years. I have and take care of lots of cats many Feral, but that is different. They are a lot more self sufficient.

Ooh please post pics of your new puppy!! I've never had a puppy. Four dogs wear me out enough. Can't imagine a puppy!

@ripka junkie I think when he is large, he will go outside, lol.

I hope you don't plan on using piddle pads, because one a dog is used to that, it is difficult to train it to always go outside. You will be getting up in the middle of the night, several times, I still do, little dogs, but once a dog is trained properly, it is easy in that regard from then on as it will ask to go out, or at least you can just let it out to do it's business.

@mousiegirl we have him in a crate now and are not using pads to train. We are learning his routine if we feed arouth 7 AM and 4 PM. We have a large back yard that is fully enclosed with brick walls. The breeder insists raw food have you heard of this?

@ripka junkie Raw food? Does it mean literally raw meat and veggies?

@l@ucymo yes there are a number of brands on the market now and you store in the freezer until ready to feed. Rambo, ( named by my husband), love it!

@ripka junkie No, I haven't heard of it. But, I guess we lose a lot of food value in the processing of dog and human foods, added filler and preservatives. Hope Rambo enjoys his new forever home. The name would please my DH as well.

German Shephards are my FAVORITE breed. My sister had 2 and I loved those dogs so much. You would have thought they were mine because of all the love and attention I gave them. Just thinking about them now makes me want to cry because I miss them so much!!!

@ripka junkie I feed my two pups Primal raw. It has been sterilized and is perfectly fine. It comes frozen, in four or so flavors, and if you get four bags at a time, the fourth is free, I believe. I thaw three patties at a time which lasts small dogs three days, but of course your adult dog will eat more, but not that much more. Mine get half a patty a day, 1/4 in the morning, and 1/4 each in the evening.

Go to the site and you can read all of the information, including how to feed by weight.

Just a little tidbit. I feed my male baked yam every morning, and the girl gets a tiny dollop, as it keeps his an-l glands cleaned out, you may want to consider this, maybe not so often, as I think small dogs have more issues, but they all have the glands, and it is the easiest and least expensive way to do this, unless you are able to manually do it yourself, eeeew, lol.

@mousiegirl@, thanks for the information we have been reading a lot about raw food benefits since we paid our deposit on the dog. We had a sheppard before and lost him about 2 years ago and have had the A problem. We did have to take to the vet for that so thanks again for the information.
