I'm back!!

I am soooo in the holiday spirit right now! So I wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing! My tree is up and I'm starting to decorate it. Blog coming soon, but I will post a couple sneak peek photos today for you.

I was doing my tablescape and wanted you to see how pretty - and simple - these spray painted nuts are. The perfect touches of gold for my table. Do you have any quick and easy decorating tips? Any photos of your decorations to share? I would love to see them!

I'll check back later. Guess which two puppies are as excited as I am about decorating today? Haha!

I'm getting anxious just hearing about people starting their holiday decor already! It is too early for me, as I wait till Thanksgiving weekend usually. I may start a few days early this year, but giving it a couple more weeks for the fall stuff.

My Christmas decor is the only seasonal decor that I find hard to clean around, so if it goes up too early, I either live with some areas of dust, or I have to dismantle some things to clean properly, not my favorite thing to do during the holidays.

I also do a lot of my baking in early to mid November, so the dust from that endeavor is done before the decor goes up. Keeps the kitchen and dining room looking better if that baking mess is over with before decor goes up.

Hope everyone is getting ready to have fun with the new things we added this year.

Love the look of those gold nuts. I have the nutcrackers that Lisa Roberston presented last year, and I set them on a charger. These would look great mixed with the greens surrounding them.

Can you share what paint/color/finish you used?

@Mominohio - They would look beautiful mixed with greens! I used Rustolleum gold, I think in a high gloss gold. Good luck and post a photo if you make them! I'm not planning on eating them just to be on the safe side.

That sounds like a great plan @Mominohio - except that I would start eating early too! Love holiday goodies!

Who doesn't love spray-painted nuts?

Tinging or very lightly spraying fallen leaves with white also makes for a great, natural runner on a table (...of painted nuts and pinecones). It all comes to looking like a wintry forest floor.

There are so many easy, very effective tricks to holiday decorating which make a table unique as opposed to too much merchandising-up a room to death.

I love the extravagant ribbon on your tree. Cannot say that I have ever seen any like that but now I am on a mission. Keep the pictures coming, beautiful as always.

@Alberti_Popaj OOOOOO - golden nuts, love these! Brings back memories for me because we used to do this with pine cones. Spray paint some cones and add to your nuts - such golden delights!!!!

As you know it's a must to do Thanksgiving before we can have a wonderful Christmas. I'm SO looking forward to the BIG meal! I ordered my fresh turkey yesterday. Brefore I even pick it up, I already know it's going to be oh so tasty! I love Thanksgiving more than I do Christmas, I'll admit it. I think for me it's all about how DE'LISH the entire house smells with all of those aromas blending & melding together.

They all mix pretty darn good in the belly too!!!!

@Alberti_Popaj Thank you for sharing your sneak peek photos. I remember the photos of your beautiful tree from last year, and it was magnificient! Do you decorate only one tree in your home or more than one? I remember Lisa R. decorated several trees as do many of the other hosts. Would also love to see photos of your other decorations..such as the mantle etc. Looking forward to more photos..

I am in love with your treatment of the top of your tree. Looks as though it's something I'd see in one of Gump's windows! And, yes, I want to duplicate it big time.

Will have 2 trees up for the first time this year, so am on a massive search for ideas. Thank you for sharing your art!

This is beautiful Alberti! I do the same thing -- the huge ribbon as my tree topper, but with no star or anything else on top. I love your idea about the golden nuts, I'm using that idea for sure, with silver and gold. I have sterling silver and gold spray paints for my ornaments, so I just have to get the nuts [and acorns from outside]. I don't do much with pine cones since they drive my dog crazy! LOL

I also had to add my love of the nuts you made. When I first saw them, I thought, where do you people shop that I dont to find things like this! LOL Then when I read you'd actually made them, i was really surprised, and a bit in awe... I have to say...

The bow is magnificient, and the finished tree will surely be amazing.

I did a few craft projects today myself, as it was raining and gloomy, the perfect day to be creative. I dried oranges to use on our tree, and added cloves in the centers to spiff them up. They look so cute! I'd like to take credit for the idea, but I think it's from Good Housekeeping?

I also wanted to save what I could from one of our old smaller Christmas trees, and took apart what I could of the greenery around the post, and took off some branches by finagling them off, and just cutting off additional pieces, I made a wreath from some of the length of greenery with lights, battery ones,, and filled a green metal container with the branches and little pinecones I'd preserved last fall. I need berry picks for both, and I'll call it good! These were fun, easy projects that I had a good time working on.

Maybe I can take on the nut project too? I'm just wondering if they could be hung up somehow... Hot glue? Or would that hurt the finish? Hopefully someone knows. Hope it was ok adding my own projects here. Don't want to hijack your thread. Thanks for posting your beautiful work! pinky

@Alberti_Popaj, that ribbon is gorgeous. I like the ribbon and the star combination.

Last year I did a tree with only Swarovski snowflake ornaments and cyrstal snowflakes. I might add some white birds this year.

I do a bow on top of my tree as well. It's the last thing I put on and then my tree is complete.

Decorating the rest of my tree is a free for all. LOL I find the right spot for the ornaments as I unwrap/unbox them. After that I stick pointsettia picks all over to fill in the empty spots that I just can't find the right ornament for.
