Hydrangea wreath used for table centerpiece?

Is it OK to use one of Valerie's Hydrangea wreaths for a table centerpiece? I put one of her angels in the middle of the wreath, but am not sure if it will look too "busy". Thanks for any advice you can give this novice "decorator".

I use a lot of wreaths for centerpieces.....I also put a big glass hurricane glass in the middle with a battery timer candle in it.

Of course you can use a wreath as a centerpiece! If you own it, you can do anything you like. Try it with a variety of things in the middle. Big candles are popular. Most people use trial and error in deciding on the "look" they favor.

Absolutely! I currently have a hydrangea and bird's nest wreath as a centerpiece on our coffee table. I placed a larger bird's nest with some resin birds in the middle. I change the wreaths out for the seasons. I love doing that! Set it up as you like then go back and look at it again in the morning. See how you like it ~ my guess is you'll love it! :-)

Finally, today we have beautiful weather, no more rain for a while, so have been gardeinng daily, even in the cold, windy weather. Pups are happy to be out every day, instead of periodically due to the rain. A few daylilies are blooming, and irises, still hoping that most of the iris will bloom this year, no excuse for them not to in their new beds.

@mousiegirl I hear you about the cold rain and wind. We are cold this week and have had so much rain and wind it's just miserable to try to do anything outside. We were in the 80's and have dropped down to 50's during the day and was 41 last night. The sun is shining this morning so hope that will last a few days and warm us up.

Our Iris are blooming now but with the weather they are pretty much blown down. No daylilies blooming yet but hopefully by mid May we will see a lot of blooms.

I am going to make an effort to get on here more and check in with you guys. I think I just got out of the habit of coming on and I have so many other obligations too right now. CIJ will liven things up for quite awhile. I'll be on but hoping not to buy a lot of stuff I don't need.

Hey LUCY! Glad to here you plan to be on more when your schedule slows down a bit.! WHEW---that's a lot of work cleaning the yard beds and planting flowers.......I can barely keep up with my 8 container plants and keep my patio clean of leaves from surrounding trees.....then of course my kitties bring in the leaves from the patio into the house on their fur---

I did purchase a couple of things for Memorial Day/4th of July----just some florals and a new contanier to make a new arrangement for my living room along with some things I purchased to add-ins to make it more festive for these holidays, And I did purchase a new wreath for my front door---that wreath I had for spring--- VPH bunny wreath with daffodials has seen better days and my attempts to save it failed pretty badly.....So I took a chance and ordered one from Collections etc....It was very nice spring flowers and it's very full and $23 including tax & shipping and handling. and amazingly their CS didnt mess up the order.....

I will enjoy watching the CIJ decorating shows, and I hope VPH has something other than spheres and finials (time to move on to new things), Like you I certainly have enouh Christmas stuff already, but you know how that is......you see something that you just gotta have....LOL!!! So we'll see.............

Our weather here has been a roller coaster mostly in the mid 80's, then we got a pleasant surprise---a cool front, it was in the upper 60's here this weekend and in the 70's yesterday......but sadly the heat is coming.....just in time for our Fiesta Celebration and the parades, it's going to be 91-93, the cool down a bit with the upper 70's on Sunday....I got my summer clothes ready, and will NOT be following QVC's fashion guidelines of layering in the heat and humidity!!!

@Spurt Glad to hear that you've bought some florals, a welcome relief from finials and spheres. I actually love the spheres that I have and most can be used year round. But, I have enough to last the rest of my life. I'm sure QVC picks up enough new customers to sell a shipment of spheres to but those of us who've been around since the first ones are on overload now.

I'll be looking for a good used houseboat, if the rains come that are expected, we will need one by Saturday. We got a lot yesterday and last night and talk of 8+ inches by the weekend. Right now it's a little cool to swim around the area. lol

WOW that's a LOT of rain!!!! Maybe you should look for an ark instead of a houseboat!!! Please take care and stay safe!!!!

Back in 1998 we had what we call the 100 Year Flood---the situation was so serious they even took off all TV programming and EVEN COMMERCIALS (and that is way of seeing it is serious---when commericals are dumped) they ran continuous weather updates!!! There was so much flooding.....so I will be saying a prayer for y'all in your area! .........And I hope the rain doesnt destroy all your beautiful spring flowers...............

Although many enjoy the finials and spheres I think it's been a tad overdone.....I want to see something new not just a modification and tweeking a sphere...!!! QVC knows the art of OVERKILL for sure!!!

@Spurt Thanks for the prayers. We are hearing about quarter + size hail so I may be looking at the sky through holes in the roof. Several years ago we had hail that was in large chunks, lots of leaking roofs and dented siding as well as many damaged vehicles, personal and dealerships alike. I sure hope the forecasters are wrong and it doesn't get that bad for anyone in it's path.

Hail is very destructive and even dangerous. In April 2016 we had a similar storm that you described. So many roofs, windows (broken windows in both cars and homes) and thousands of cars themselves were damaged. The waiting list was so long for cars (I guess most everyone has their garage filled with "stuff" that they can't park their car in their garage) -so it was a enormous amount of damage. In fact my sister's appointment to repair the body work to her car is scheduled for October 2017 (from a storm back in April 2016)....Another friend has her repairs scheduled for August 2017!!! So I hope you and folks in your area dont experience this awful destruction.

Saw some cute decor things in Stein Mart, and Home Goods......but didnt buy anything, I was just a bad influence and encouraged my friend to spend her money...
