Since today is free shipping, I'm browsing through the Christmas home decor items. I'm intrigued by the Bethlehem Lights Mixed Greens collection, especially the swags.

Does anyone own the 36" swags and can give some feedback on them? I'm thinking of using them on the dining table, console table and/or the sideboard.

Is the greenery natural looking? I wasn't quite sure about the light green mixed with the darker green and if it was a big contrast.

Would the width of these work in the places I want to use them? No width measurement was given in the description. I'm not sure if they would be too bulky for the dining table or console table.

One more question, can the branches be moved about to work around candleholders, finials, etc.? Not sure how the construction is under the swag.

I will appreciate any advice you can pass on. Today definitely is the day to save some money on shipping. 😊

I have these swags (these are the ones that were the TSV back in maybe September.

I feel, for the price, they are super nice. There are probably more realistic ones out there, but for much much more money. I like the mix of greens, and these pieces were my first exposure to what I consider the newer 'plastic' branches. I didn't expect to care for them, but I really do. As with anything fake, if you get close enough and scrutinize it enough, you will see it isn't real, but from just a step back, I think these look very nice, again, especially for the price point.

They are very full, not a problem with bare spots. The greens are all very easy to move and arrange (well wired) and stay where you move them to. The lights have been an issue with some people. Mine were mostly down the center of the swag, but others said in reviews that theirs were more to the outside. I was able to manipulate the branches with lights attached to spread them out somewhat. Many people felt there weren't really enough lights on the piece, and I can see where more would be nice too.

The battery box on the bottom makes a nice level base for sitting the piece on a flat surface, and it doesn't take much arranging to make the branches come down to table level and look natural, like there is no battery box underneath.

I have a small round four seat dining table, and I don't find it too big or overwhelming for the table, but we definitely couldn't eat with it unless I added a leaf or two. It is ok for decorating, but maybe not for when the table is in use for eating with four people around it. If you have a bigger table, especially a rectangle, I see no problem with width or height.

I personally cannot see how one could put candles (unless it was just some tapers placed down among the greens without holders) or finials etc. in the swag, as it is too dense. If anyone has done that, I'd love to see a picture of it. I have chosen to use picks only to decorate mine indoors, but scattering round ornaments in them looks nice too. Ribbons would be nice as well.

It is something that I would not sit on fine wood, without a tray or a runner or something like that underneath. The battery box is fine, but the branches could scratch a fine finish.

I did all my outside window sills with these, and got the stake trees for the garage, and several wreaths for the doors. I also got these same wreaths for inside the doors, and a swag for on a table too. I like them just as much indoors and I do outdoors.

@Maltichonmom17

Thank you so much @Mominohio, for your detailed and informative feedback. I truly appreciate you taking time to answer my questions.

The swag sounds larger and denser than I had imagined so I may rethink where I might put them if I buy them. Not sure about the dining table since you have given me some perspective on scale. I do have a question on placing a runner underneath. Is the swag wider than the average runner or will it fit on it without hanging over?

Again, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to give some great advice. You're the best! 😊

I'm looking for inspiration. When it comes to decorating, I'm a rank amatuer compared to all you trained professionals. 😊 I love looking at everyone's decorating pictures and getting inspired by you ladies.
