Bethleham Trees

Is it my imagination or have there been fewer showings of Bethleham Light's Christmas trees? I had seriously wanted to invest in another tree this year and was waiting for jiust the right one and never got to it. I get indecisive when I think they are going to present another one in a week or so that might be better, better price, etc.

I was taking out my mother's tree that I had purchased from QVC about five years ago and again noticed how lovely that tree is, not to mention easy to put together.

I agree....less Bethlehem lights products each year...and i was also looking for a tree this year and figured i would go with Bethlehem Lights as i had ordered one for my mom a few years back and it was very nice....but it seems they had very few options.....this year it seemed most of the trees they offered were "slim" style...which i wanted a full tree...and the other problem was most of the trees had either cones, or berries, etc. on them...i didn't want any decorations except lights on my tree..i felt the additions didn't compliment the trees........and i wasn't impressed with Santa's Best brand..................I went to a local store and purchase a nice little tree...just what i wanted ....fuller...realistic and not full of pinecones, berries, snow spray, etc.....so i am happy....and it was

much less $$$. Although i do feel Bethlehem lights are worth the money as they are quality products...

Yep, less BL airings each year. A few years ago, they were on every 15 minutes and two things have happened.

First they saturated the market. Second, their quality isn't very good and the reviews show it.

I have a number of their products, and mine are full and beautiful, but many of their lighting functions don't hold up well. I have a new tree this year, and it needs to go back, because a weld in the stand broke before it was even set up. Their prices are too high for their products to last only a season or two before the functions in lighting etc. give out. People are moving on, I think.

@Mominohio - Sad to hear about your stand breaking. They can't just send you a replacement stand?

I have had and gifted many BL trees and not had any problems with them at all. Their trees are so full compared to the trees I see about locally and the prices considerably lower than comparably full ones I've seen on-line that I think I'd just add my own lights before I'd buy anything else. I wouldn't even remove the old lights as they are so well installed you don't see wires everywhere.

I like the looks of the Hallmark trees and the one Tara has got good reviews. I decorate with a lot of trees in my home and have a variety from BL, Santas Best and Vickermann. My dream tree is an all white tree from Balsam Hill. I still don't own this one because I wasn't fast enough when it was on sale.

It seems that the local stores have included trees on their websites and in the stores. I saw the most variety at At Home but I always like Pier 1.

We haven't had the best of luck with artificial trees lately. Every time we buy a new one, there is something wrong with it almost right out of the box.

I am considering taking the plunge and going with a Balsam Hill. My only concern is that I want to get it close to Christmas, and not right after (when there are sales and it would save a lot of money to do so), because if it isn't right, I don't want to be stuck with it because it sat for almost a year before it got real use, and we encountered the problem. Sometimes just testing the tree for a few days doesn't show it's defects, like having it up for the whole season.

@Mominohio - well, if you can hold out until next summer, BalsamHill always has a big Christmas in July sale.

@Fressa - My 5' tree is a Hallmark sugared flocked tree that I bought "as is" from here on the Q 2 years ago. It's a beautiful little tree and doesn't shed a lot of flocking while you're decorating it. It's nice and full and the lighting is well done.
