Found these on "as is" - anyone have them?

H210496 is the "as is" item #. I read the reviews on the original item (H208739) and many said they are not glass which is what the description says.

Anyone? TIA.

I was also surprised to see them in asis. They sold out when they were presented. I thought they were pretty, except that the greenery looked like cheep plastic. So I'm also interested to see why they were returned.

Don't have them, but I swear the presentation stated (by Valerie) that they were glass.

I know I have received a number of glass items from VPH, and noticed in other people's reviews they state 'they are not glass" when in fact, they are. Some glass is so thin it almost feels plastic.

I wonder about some of the reviews people post. I swear they are not even looking at the item they are posting about.

I ended up ordering a set in the "as is" which are clear. They looked pretty, so I'll hope that they are.

Well, the name says "glass ornaments" and the description says "glass construction", so I'd say they're glass.

To me, it looks like the bulb is glass, but I would very much doubt if the decoration at the top is. It appears to be plastic or resin, which makes sense. They do look pretty, whatever they're made of.

They're definitely glass. I've held them in my hand, but didn't purchase. I felt the glass was too thin and would break too easily. But they are most definitely glass.

I don't own them, but they are very tempting! I totally agree with mominohio regarding some reviews people post. I have also read people claiming that an item is not glass when in fact it is. Also, I have read reviews by some complaining that an item doesn't have a timer when all you have to do is switch it to "on" and the timer is set. Most of the time if I like the item I'll buy it and make my own judgment. We can always return it, right? Enjoy your new ornaments! I'm sure they'll be beautiful! :-)

@HisElk1 I own these ornaments and they are glass. I know the greenery is plastic but they are very pretty in spite of that. Last year they had the bells in gold and silver MG that had the same kind of plastic greenery on top. I have those as well and love them.

I hope you like them if you decide to order. I like mine to hang on the chandelier.

@lucymo, you just made my day! Thank you! After reading the reviews, I wasn't sure if I should try to cancel, but I didn't and thank you so much for posting.

My plan was to do exactly what you do and attempt to hang on the dining room chandelier. I am so glad I decided to read here before going to bed.

That's not always the case regarding the timer. I purchased an ornament set similar in shape to the set discussed here (this set is not lit), I think it was last year. They were mercury glass and Valerie said they had a timer. They didn't. I tested them, thinking they only had timer mode then and not an on/off/timer. Not only didn't they have a timer, they were dead by morning when I didn't turn them off.

When I contacted her about it, she apologized about the presentation saying they had a timer, that they in fact did not have a timer. It wouldn't have been a big deal, except it was 6 ornaments and I was going to hang them up high so manually turning them on and off was just not feasible.
