During AM Style, Leah showed a small Dooney patent leather crossbody bag for about $160. What? It looks like a dollar store bag!

I think QVC bags are overpriced. I would not pay what they are asking for that D & B crossbody.

I purchased this Coach patent leather Jayden carryall a few years ago. I like this one better than the Dooney. I paid more for this bag but I love it and still carry it several times a year. This is the only patent leather bag I own and I baby it.

Yeah, New= overpriced! It is cute, but I thought the dark blue lining was undesirable, and I would not pay that price either. But I have tons of crossbody bags already, and I’m not working same job like before, so also not spending needlessly- yay!

I don't know if that bag is overpriced, but I do know I'm not spending that much today for any bag. That's really the only decision I feel as if I need to make.

I'm not even sure what overpriced means. Is it the same as expensive or just costing more than the person speaking wants to pay for it. To me, overpriced means I can buy the very same item elsewhere for less money. Sad to say, most overpriced bags I'm attracted to rarely get to a price I want to pay until I'm no longer interested at all. My closet is already full of old things!

For me, 'overpriced' can mean several different things, but most often it means I think an item is priced higher than I personally assess it to be worth... That said, there is also the factor that some shopping destinations price their wares higher than others and there is almost always another shopping venue that will beat QVC's prices for handbags, especially when adding in their shipping costs. As for that Dooney bag, even with free shipping, there is absolutely nothing about that mini-bag that, for me, makes it worth the price.

Most small leather designer cross body bags are in the $140 to $200 range. It it not unusual at all.

Patent leather is REAL leather. I am sure many people pony up the money for the real thing. You can buy faux plastic bags for a lot less if you wish.

It depends on what you want...there is something for everyone.

DB bags can be expensive. (It's a relative term.). It's unfortunate that we can't reach in and feel the leather, because DB does a great job with patent leather.

What's happened is that discount chains and brands have gotten very good at creating fake patent--which is not patent leather. That goes for any other well-known silhouette/look they created out of cheap, disposable materials. Unless you know it first hand, you don't know the difference.

As for the price, many who hang out on the threads are great at spotting the best bargains for DB. $160 isn't bad for that bag.

(I edited my original remarks. The pebble leather original is also on sale it's sale price is lower than the patent leather version.)

Beautiful you have good taste. I.would need to match a patent shoe with it and they are hard to find unlike years ago.

The older I’m getting, the heavier my huge Dooney bags are to carry all day....lots of heavy hardware and Florentine leather, while gorgeous, weighs almost as much as my smallest 13” beagle when loaded up...Can’t imagine carrying her around all day.

Have gone back to my cotton coated canvas LV bags for now to rest my shoulders. Going to sell a few really lg. LVs on eBay and 2 original lg. Coach bucket bags...no phone pockets inside and haven’t used in a decade.
