Major purse purge

We are soon moving and tomorrow the realtor is coming to take video & pictures to list our house online. So something I've been meaning to do is purge my purses to make some space in my closet. I did it today - was very tough on myself and I'm glad. I had a lot of older bags that I love but they were , in fact, not at all stylish, so I donated them.I actually cut down to half as many as I had to start with.

Good for you! I'm just starting that process and will be tackling my closet soon. Even though I don't plan to list for several months, just the thought of all the work to be done is overwhelming!

Good for you @151949. I’ve been thinning out my purse collection also. Have taken several to consignment (5 have sold so far) and have sold 3 on a Facebook yard sale page and have one listed there now.

It doesn’t mean I’ll never buy another purse, but I parted with the ones that I just wasn’t using.

I did a huge purge last fall and will do another one this spring. I have too many and while I love each and every one of them, I just can't justify owning that many. I haven't carried many of them in quite some time. Fortunately, I live near a consignment shop that sells them for me. It's a 50/50 split so I do get something out of them. I also donated a few to a local clothing charity.

I donated the vast majority of my purse collection to charity several years ago. They weren't anything that great. Maybe a couple of Coach or Dooney bags that just didn't work out in the mix, but nothing special. Since then, I've picked up about 4-5 replacements, but still have less than 15 bags. A couple of them are my go-to, every day bags. The rest get rotated in from time to time.

Boy, you can say that again! I've had a knot in my stomach since we signed the papers to buy the new house.
