Wanting to purchase a small cross body handbag for my Mom...price of Aimee K. bag is $104 with 10.47 in shipping cost...are you kidding QVC! Why the high cost of shipping a handbag. Anyone else thinks that is a bit high for shipping!

@GAC65 Yes, it's high. Take a look at these websites: Kate Spade, Macys and Lord & Taylor. Everyone has sales and their shipping is free.

I cannot understand for the life of me why the shipping is so high on an empty handbag!! Dooney and Burke also is usually $12.50 or so, really???? even the tsv the other day had reduced shipping at $5.00 so with tax and shipping for a special price of $199.00 it was actually $220.00!!! What a ripoff.

I feel your pain but as other posters stated, there are lots of places online where you will not pay shipping and get a good price.

It's not just Qvc all the retailers charge a lot for s&h of handbags. Weird because they'll charge more to ship a handbag than they do to ship boots that heavier.

All the retailers do not charge big bucks to ship a handbag. In fact, those that do charge usually waive the charges over a certain amont spent and handbags often qualify for free shipping. I'd guess QVC changes as they do because shipping generates profit for them. They sell a lot of Dooney bags and probably a large percentage of that usual twelve-plus dollar shipping charge is money in their pockets.
