I saw a handbag listed 'as is' that I am considering. Anyone ever order one 'as is'?

Do they send out bags that are scratched ? I don't mind if someone else opened it and returned it....I don't want to get something someone used for a month...

What are your experiences with 'as is'?

My experience with as-is has been positive. I got a GILI Roma 2 that came with everything including the dust bag. It looked like it had just been unwrapped and returned. I also got a dark gray Logo Lock from Dooney with all the accessories. It had a black sharpie mark on the side but you can't really see it due to the color.

you can still return as-is bags.

Over the years, I've ordered at least 12-15 'as is' D&B bags and might have returned 1 due to scratches.

It's well worth taking a chance and as the other poster mentioned, 'as is' bags can still be returned if necessary.

I won't order 'as is' bags in January due to the extended holday return period, since there's a greater chance that it was carried for 3 months, then returned too well used......it happens.

I have bought quite a few as-is purses and other things. I have only ever returned one ring, that was missing some stones. Everything else has been just fine. I usually look in ad is or last clicks for bargains.

I have been pleased with all AS IS items I have always bought. Alway clothing, never electronics. I lay in wait for something I have put in my wish list to get to the AS IS list. In my opinion the only way to buy.

I've ordered several as is bags recently, and a few arrived in very good condition. Only one came with wrapped handles and a dust bag. Unfortunately, I had to send several back, as they were totally unacceptable. Some were so scratched, looks like they were run over. One had ink marks on the leather, and one was missing the shoulder strap. Qvc's quality control really needs to check out people's returns. It's one thing to resell a customer return, but they shouldn't be selling bags that are highly scratched and/or have missing pieces, unless otherwise stated.

Me too... Most as-is bags I've ordered arrived in good condition and only a few items were clearly worn or damaged. One item was missing 'accessories'. It's probably worth a shot.

I've bought most all my D&B's from "as-is" and only had to return 1 but it was because they sent the wrong style, then they replaced that one with the correct style but wrong color. I did eventually get the bag I ordered. Once I recieved an as-is D&B with somebody's ATM reciept in one of the pockets so it was obviously used (but still in excellent condition so I kept it).

I was worried too after reading in the forum but I just took a chance. I found an all white Safiano Bitsy bag at like half price $100. It came perfect and with the storage bag and paperwork. Just didn't have the plastic wrapping on the handles. I am very pleased and happy. I needed a white bag for an all white French picnic dinner at a winery. I've been wanting to try both the Bitsy bag and Safiano leather. I like them both!
