Question about Dooney Logo Lock

For those who have it....will it soften and drape more easily over time? It seems rather stiff and clunky with its thick leather. I'm hoping it will take on a more natural shape and l will be one a little more comfortable to wear over time.

@Rachb I do not own the bag so I can't answer your question. However, the ones I was looking at at the Nordstrom Rack were not stiff or clunky but were very soft.

@Rachb i own it in the tmoro brown since last year and mine has gotten super soft. Not stiff at all. I love it!

No it won't.

It's stiff, clunky and doesn't hang well from the shoulder.

I owned one, tried to "train" it - and ended up giving it to Goodwill. Our local Clothes Mentor wouldn't even take it! They local franchise won't take Dooneys from QVC.

It does need to be trained to slouch. Load it up with stuff and hang it on a door knob.

@jaxs mom How is that even possible unless the tag is still on the clothing item...impossible for anyone at a Goodwill to determine that...only with the new 'tagless' clothes I guess. And then I scratch my head as to why? D&CO clothes are better used than anything from say Wally World someone had previously...

Additionally, I'd say at least 60-75+% of what the Q sells can be bought anywhere...

I can't imagine any clerks at a Goodwill spending extra time sorting/separating/removing items that were previously bought from QVC that kind hearted folks donated...

And then...food for thought...

What would they do with those items...IF said items were proven to have been purchased from QVC?...trash them....hardly...

Unless they separate them out and stuff them in their own trunk...

it's just not believeable IMO

All I know is they have a sign up that says no QVC clothing. I've also never seen any QVC house brands in our Goodwill clothing store.

@jaxs mom...So something from say Saks...or say any 5th Ave store would be acceptable?

So where is this sign located? You may miss many pieces of clothing that are on the racks at your local Goodwill. I would think it would be difficult to inspect every piece of clothing that enters the location.

I have just never heard of such nonsense in all the years I have been donating...over 30 years!...never heard of anything but thankfulness from all the various Goodwills (there have been many!) and Salvation Army locations, homeless shelters...no matter what was donated. As long as it wasn't trash, nearly everything folks can find a use for...

I'm not sure why you are giving me a hard time about this. I'm not advocating they should do it, I don't work for them and I don't make policy. I'm just stating what the sign says. If you don't believe me, so be it, it's a free country.

@jaxs mom... sorry to hear you've been under the weather and hope you're feeling better soon. I've heard of consignment shops that won't accept QVC goods, but it's sort of surprising when thrift shops won't. Wow, that's really something...

QVC is the only place where that particular bag is sold. Same thing with some TSV's. Even some bags sold in B&M stores (like the daffodil and other flower bags) have different colored trim, which marks them as "QVC."

I have a friend's daughter who works for a company that specialises in appraising items...they have LOTS of ways of telling what's what!

My bag was "untrainable" - same thing with my GILI bag.

It's good that I have better luck training dogs than I do with bags!!!

Around here i would take my Goodwill donation to one of their boxes or I would drive thru and give them what i have. They give me a receipt that i fill out. Noone inspects what you give them.
