Baggallini Score!

Baggallini bags have been my purses of choice the last couple of years. I'm just not into expensive heavy leather purses anymore. My style of choice has been the Calais or the Momento, but recently I thought I should bump up in size a little. Lo and behold, I found a great purse on the Costco website for $50! I chose the tan but might get the navy blue too. I also like what they're calling "purple" but that colors would have limited use options. I'm also interested in a grey sling style that's on the Costco website, also $50. Then I was in TJMaxx yesterday and spotted the black cross cross style, $50 as well. I know that one retails for $130. So I ended up with two new purses. They are very similar in size and each have a built in RFID wallet and all the locking zippers. Kinda funny that they were all the same price.

I was a Brighton girl for years but they have gone crazy with the prices and because they are stiffer leather they can be heavy. Even the smaller ones. I still love a leather bag but lightweight leather so I've switched to Latico, Lyons Leather and Osgood Marley. I only do small crossbody bags never totes. I've considered Baggalini bags and been tempted to buy but just can't bring myself to used a non leather bag. I guess I'm a bit of a purse snob.

Baggallini is my favorite brand. I love the original Everyday bag. For me very functional and the right size. Have 5 of them, each for less than $50.

currently carrying the Modern Everywhere bag in Seaside Blue. Love it! A place for everything with room to spare.

@JeanLouiseFinch you made out like a bandit on those bags. I had the criss-cross, a few years ago, very useful size.

I have a couple of them. I can throw them in the washer...and they last FOREVER (!!!)

@Desertdi I've been curious about if you can throw these in the washer (I thought I'd heard a rep once say you can)...because the sand colored one I've been carrying lately, and had since last year...I feel it could use a refresh.

Did you keep your strap on it...or do that by hand? Or put it inside the bag? I just wondered about the hardware on it (clips that hold the strap on, and zipper pulls) clanking around?

I also wondered if it would look rumpled when it comes out? Does it come out "washed" looking or just like your bag but clean again?!

I own two Baggallinis, both small-medium crossbodies...small, light, functional, fit everything I need, both purchased on QVC for under $50. One in sand, one in the midnight orchad, tone on tone blk/gray. Really like them both. In my head I want to be a "classic" lady carrying only leather, but I just have loved the lightweight nylon crossbodies I've carried now for about 5 years...Baggalinis or Lugs.

On the black one, one of the front pockets stitching has come a little undone...wondering who can repair that, as I feel if I do it, it might look sloppy. I'm wondering if my seamstress can do it. I was surprised as this bag wasn't overloaded and I'm not hard on my bags.

I toss the Baggallinis in the washer with a regular load of towels and such.

Regular laundry detergent...regular speed wash.

Hung on a small drying rack outside in the shade.

PS: For repairs, I have always gone to a "shoemaker repair shop"...but the places are few and far, lately. "Lost trade".

Yes, I almost mentioned shoemaker/cobbler, that's who I would have brought them to before also. We're down to one I know, and not sure he's "delicate" enough or would do the purse. If it were a leather good he might. He's kind of a grumpy old guy, not too "customer accomodating"...but as you say they're few and far between now. My favorite one, I only found a few yrs ago, and got to use him a couple years before he moved down south! He was so friendly and would look at anything to see if he could fix it for you.

I'll see what I can do...got to go to that shoe guy soon to pick up something, maybe run it by him. My seamstress lady might be "neater" about it if she can do it at all. If the shoe guy would do it at all he strikes me as a "just get it done" kinda guy, function over aesthetic, not worried about hiding the stitches. If you know what I mean.

My Costco had this bag and a backpack a couple of months ago in purple. I got both since I was still looking for the trip with the grandkids to Europe, now they are in high school. In the end I returned. But they were very nice.

They can certainly be washed, but not put in the dryer. I use a laundry bag due to the strap.

What a deal you found. I have a Baggallini similar to this one. Mine is black with gold hardware. The front of mine has a flap that opens up with gold closure. I love this bag. I purchased from Q for $90.00 over a year ago. I didn't see it on Q when I checked today. It is my go to.bag. Baggallini is a great brand. You scored big

My local TJ Maxx always has a huge selection of Baggallini bags in all sizes.

They are fabulous for traveling!
