Is QVC discontinuing Dooney & Bourke? All of the inventory is either on sale or on clearance. What do you think is going on?

Dooney closed several popular Outlet stores in California.

Surprising, because there were always lots of customers.

I've consigned or gifted all my Dooney,

now happily Coach and Brahmin.

I'm not positive, but I would say yes. All purses are on clearance, and that's usually the death of a clothing line on the Q.

I agree. That's a bad sign. I keep perusing the selections but honestly I don't need or want a stiff heavy dooney.

I don't see many women I know carrying Dooney bags as,often as I used to.
I have a few I kept but honestly I rarely carry them; too heavy. I have a few newer Patricia Nash bags that are beautiful leather but lightweight.

PN makes lovely bags. I also like Pom Pom London for purses with classic styling, good leather, quality details. And not heavy.

Q's current focus seems to be on low cost bags made of synthetic materials that I tend to think of a 'throw away' bags. Dooney has not been the presence here it once was for quite a while. I don't know if they'll completely go away, but they can usually be had for consistently better prices elsewhere.

the Sue Clifton days. And yes, if you're craving a dooney, there are better places to buy. And often w free shipping.

I think you're right. No, there isn't the huge variety there used to be and so many bags once offered regularly now seem to rotate seasonally. I don't think bags are the big sellers they were a few years ago. I guess popularity is cyclical.

The best Dooney's were offered when Sue Clifton was the brand representative. So many great styles then. I certainly purchased my fair share.

Geez, I would hate to see that happening, QVC discontinuing Dooney. I may be wrong but I think all the price reductions may be due to upcoming price increases and these companies are trying to cash in now. I mean the prices are already high, but I suspect they have no choice but to pass more price increases to us and obviously their sales will drop off.

Do younger women like Dooneys?

Seems like the current trend in bags is for lightweight cross-bodies. Fewer women are carrying heavy bags packed full of stuff to work than there were in the past. At least that's what it looks like to me in my neck of the woods.

Bag trends seem to cycle with the times. I remember when Dooneys were tres chic in the aughts.

Coaches seem to be back in vogue so maybe Dooneys will again be in demand.

I still carry mine, and I love them, but I haven't bought any new ones in many years.

I carried shoulder bags and clutch bags during my working career days. Now I am interested in the larger satchels because I can carry all my stuff.

Of all the places to buy Dooney and Bourke the Q is most expensive.

That being said, I don't think D and B is as popular as it once was. For the most part I only shopped the Florentine line because I don't care for the handles and trim being different from the body color.

Sick and tired of people not knowing what they're selling. I just bought multiple Toledo hobos and sellers keep putting "Florentine Toledo" in same ad. They are two different leathers. Know what you're selling. Love my Dooneys. Have now about 12 of them in different styles, colors and sizes. I watch YouTube on them all the time. Into hobos now, love that style!
