FABRIC DOONEY BAGS?

A friend is a Dooney fan, but just noticed the fabric bags might be an option. I couldn't find any reviews of cloth bags but seem to recall posters thought they were nice (and lighter!) but cost too much.

Feedback welcome.

I have a few Dooney cloth bags and find them similar to Coach cloth bags. Nicely made, typical Dooney quality bags -- just not leather.

I have one Dooney coated cotton bag for about 15ish years. It wears like iron. When my son was younger he got nacho cheese on it at a restaurant. Wiped off completely. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

I have a couple of Dooney Cabriolet cloth bags, even luggage.

They held up well and are not too heavy. I have owned Dooney bags since around 1978.

I have two nylon Dooney bags. They are very nice and very durable. I like that they are trimmed in real leather.

I have a Dooney black nylon pouchette and a Gretta (signature coated cotton) crossbody pouch. They are both several years old, very nice quality and weather friendly, and nice to the touch. I paid $49 and $69 for them on sale, respectively. Granted, they are small (but mighty) bags and prices are up since I bought them, but I would say Dooney fabric bags are not overpriced. They're usually noticeably less expensive than the same-style leather Dooneys, which is fair, not like some other brands that have the same price across the board.

I have a coated cloth Dooney and a nylon Dooney, love both of them. They do have leather trim and have worn well but I only use them in the warmer months.

@Tinkrbl44 - I also have a coated cotton Dooney. In fact I'm carrying it right now! I can't remember exactly when I got it, but it's been a while. The one I have is a light red color. I love it - still looks new!

I can highly recommend Dooney Nylon bags especially if you are wanting something lightweight.

I have several Dooney fabric bags...they are well made and lighter in weight. I prefer the leather even though it is a bit heavier.

I did not realize D&B had a fabric bag available, but jut bought one from the I love Dooney site. I did not want to spend the $$ for the one I loved at a different site for just the summer months. Thank you for the heads up!!

I have bought both the nylon and canvas bags from them. Like both. The nylon gives more a "tote" vibe but packs down nicely.

Don't sleep on their fabric bags. They're really great and so durable. I have both the coated cotton and nylon. One nylon bag i loved so much that i think i carried it for years. Was the perfect size with perfect organization and not heavy at all. I tried to find another one to replace it but haven't seen one that can compare to my original. I still have the bag, but never use it. It's a little road weary but I'll never get rid of it.

Dooney makes several different kinds of fabric bags. I really like their coated fabric bags, they do a nice job with nylon too but I haven't tried one of their canvas bags although they appear to be nicely made and attractive. Their coated bags are among my favorites, beautiful, easy maintenance and durable.

I highly recommend the fabric Dooney & Bourke bags! I like them better than the leather bags, only because the fabric versions are more "me". I have two of their canvas collection bags (their largest size canvas drawstring bag and a medium-sized canvas tote bag) and one of their medium-sized nylon tote bags. These are all casual while still looking High-end. These fabric versions do have some leather accents on them. I do not beleive that I have ever seen any canvas or nylon Dooney bags for sale online on QVC's website (well I have seen some of the printed/pattern coated cotton ones) but the solid canvas bags that you can order online from Dooney & Bourke's website are just all so nice!
