COACH BAGS

Just watched a YT video that Coach bags are having a comeback. What? I never thought they went out of favor. I have several in the Coach "fabric" print that were going to the resale shop, but pulled them out to use them.

Anyone else with Coach?

I have about six Coach bags, and wallets. Bought in the eighties and nineties. I never knew they went out of style either.

I have several coach bags that I like, but haven't used them in years, as I've been favoring my dooney's, frye, and some no-special-brand bags.

I had heard that Coach wasn't as popular as it once was, but haven't really paid attention to what others are carrying.

Now that we are having this discussion, I think I'll pull one out and use it for the remainder of the fall.

I just bought a new one a month ago. I love it. I have several that are considered vintage. I still own and carry my first clutch. I bought one for me and my mom. Hers is black and mine is brown. We used to share often. There is a cult following for the older bags. Many people have asked me about selling mine. Nope! Enjoy ladies!

I have never left Coach behind. I have no diesire to purchase handbags from a more upscale line of handbags than Coach. Leather is leather, and Coach pebbled leather is as wonderful as any other leather in my humble opinion. In fact, I consider Coach pebbled leather to be of higher quality than any of the allegedly "higher end" designer bags that have faux crocodile imprinting done on whatever leather they use for their bags.

I do not love many of the styles of Coach bags, presently on their website, for some reason, but I do love their Rogue bags, and I would purchase one of their other styles (Tabby in size 26) if they did not have the thick leather divider inside that would prevent me from placing my sunglass holder containing my sunglasses and full size wallet inside of it. I currently wear a full size Rogue bag as my everyday bag, and find that it is the perfect size for my needs, and I do not have to work hard to find anything inside of the bag. .

I also have a couple of much older monogram material Coach bags (one with metallic platinum colored leather edging and straps and one with dark brown leather mixed in with the monogram sections that is more for special occasions) that still look great after many years. .

One of my favorite Coach purchases since the 2000's began was my solid red quilted tote and its matching fabric wallet. I prefer that wallet to several others I own, but because I used it so much, it became dirty. I was going to trash it but decided to toss it into my next dark wash. If it hadn't worked, I would have trashed it, but it looks and feels brand new.

If I need to try the same on a larger fabric Coach bag, I'll check for removable cardboard and toss the bag into the washer and hope for another success.

@Jersey Born Your post prompted me to look at the Coach website and, specifically, at the Rogue and Tabby bags.

First of all, holy smokes, at the prices of the bags these days!

Secondly, those two bags and beauties! I can see why you like them so much.

Third, I agree that there are many styles/patterns that aren't appealing (starting with those furry ones!).

I'm more convinced now to hold on to the ones I've got, which are still in perfect condition. While I loved a few bags I saw on their website, I'm not paying $800 or higher for a handbag.

Coach fell out of favor when they went with wild colors and got away from their core values. Plus so many knockoffs and outlet bags don't make them that special. I still like a few of them but I don't like the ones with the dog leash hook on the straps. They always seem to unhook and make the bag fall to the ground no matter which way I put the lever. I too have some I thought about giving away.

I don't really care about these high end names on bags. I was never a Coach fan to be honest and I don't own one. I do own one D&B which has never been used, a few Nash that I no longer use, a few Amy K's.........on and on, but I purchase because I like the style and color of a certain bag as I also own some not so fancy named ones that I love and function better than some of these others. That being said, I never noticed Coach falling out of favor.

I love Coach handbags 😀! I was a sales associate at Coach for a year or so in my 20's and I had a fantastic employee discount and I loved interacting with the customers each day. I own about 15 Coach handbags thanks to the employee discount 😉.

i have Coach tote bags, shoulder bags, retro-reissue bags and limited edition Coach small leather goods.

Here's a tip for Coach fans: you can bring in your Coach leather handbag, coated canvas handbag or Coach small leather goods to a Coach store and the employees will clean and polish them in-store for free. The employees do this free service for 1 to 2 items in a single visit. The cleaning and polishing takes about 10 or so minutes and you can look around the store as your purse is pampered. I had the honor of cleaning and polishing so many pretty Coach purses. I even got to clean and polish gorgeous Coach purses that were decades old. I love Coach purses 😊!

I had a red leather Coach pouch bag in the '90s that I wish I still had. My mother gave all the stuff she was storing for me to my sister without asking or telling me. I lost some lovely pieces, including a thrifted Chanel bag. One of the many, many reasons I went NC.

Since then, I have yet to collect any of the leather goods. However, I love their sweater collections. I have a few, and they are pretty cool.

@Squirrels Are Trash I am so sorry that your mother gave all of your stuff she was storing for you to your sister without asking or telling you. That's a complete betrayal- absolutely a valid reason to go NC.

The Coach sweaters are great- Coach makes great clothing and shoes too. I have my eyes on a Coach leather mini skirt that I'd love to wear.

I have many COACH bags...all are leather, except for three of them with the signature coach fabric. I own matching wallets too.

I still carry my Coach bags, especially the leather ones. Leather never goes out of fashion.

I have a few Coach bags from the 1970s. Back then, they were usually under $100 but that was expensive for the time. They are all unlined leather, the zippers are heavy duty and they have registration numbers. They always had basic classic colors. The one tote I have has an outside kiss-lock pouch on the front which was one of their standard features then. I also have the original Coach boxes they came in. I will not part with them!

When did they go out of style? I know for a few years, logo fabric version became less popular because there were so many knock offs out there. But the leather Coach bags never suffered. I think we're not seeing knock offs much anymore so so ladies are buying the logo fabric styles again.

@Meowingkitty. Several years ago Coach announced they were going to discontinue their moderately priced bags and only carry high-end, very expensive bags. I guess that didn't go well.

I have several that I really liked but haven't used them for a long time.

My olive suede Coach shoulder bag is my fall favorite and still gets a lot of positive comments.

I also have the neoprene bags in grey and brown and they are still wonderful.

@AZfem It was a very fun job- but most of my paycheck went into buying my handbags with the employee discount 😅. I would make my coworkers laugh because I'd start to put new handbags onto the shelves and just walk one right up to the counter and say, "Ring me up, girls!" 😄.
