Brahmin?

Sadly QVC does not sell Brahmin bags. But I see women carrying them when I am out and about. I think they are pretty. Do you have one? Do you think they are worth it?

At one time Brahmin was my bag of choice. I haven't bought one in probably 10 years. They used to make nice smaller bags (I don't do totes or big bags) in pretty colors. Then I think they sold the company and now they seem to have the same tired old styles in 35 different colors. They have to many bags in wild patterns and colors now. I prefer black or pecan. Plus they seemed to put a gloss that is now really shiny and it makes the bags look like plastic. My bag of choice now and has been for many years is Brighton.

They are my favorite moderate brand.

You can sign up at their website and earn points for your purchases there and you will be notified of special pricing events. Dillard's has good clearance sales instore and online.

I have some I purchased several years ago in West Palm Beach and Newport RI.They really are great quality and after having them over 20 years they still look good as new.

I have one, I don't think I'd buy another one. Leather is very stiff and I wish it had more pockets.

I get lots compliments from young women when I'm carrying it.

I have at least 5 Brahmin bags and they are around 8 to 10 years old. They are in excellent condition. I realize they are not inexpensive but I feel they are better than any Dooney. My Dooney's are great too but the Brahmin are superior. I would not hesitate to buy another Brahmin.

I've bought Brahmin bags for over 25 years. I still have the first ones I bought and they have held up to lots of wear. i like their styles and materials but I haven't bought recently since I want to use what I have. I don't think they look plastic at all and enjoy the different colors I see. Mine don't have a lot of outer pockets, but that isn't important to me.

Yeah, they are stiff and sometimes don't have the back pocket. I stuffed the one I got that does have a back pocket and put down hard paper rolls to stretch it out won't take it again till spring or summer.

Like Nash's better. Seems like I got it on clearance at Dillards

I have only two, a small tapestry and brown leather bag and an ostrich type, small brown one. The tapestry one, the leather has cracked. They are stored in my climate controlled closet, in my bedroom, in the bags that came with them! I was disappointed in the leather but only I notice it. I no longer need to buy most things. I am old and have acquired way too many nice things!

I have had better luck in my later life with Brighton bags.👜

@mormel20. I hav3 a couple Brahmins. They're fine handbags, well made and beautiful. Their price point is, however, above what the average qvc sjhopper spends on a bag.

Fans of Brahmin bags may also like ones made by Roche leather, a small California company I discovered at the prestigious Smithsonian craft show. Their bags are similar to Brahmin bags -- "arty," high quality, faux animal/alligator embossed leather, incredibly durable, and very functionally designed. I have about five of them and always get compliments on them. One thing I especially like is that they will customize the bag at no extra charge. For example, I carry a large wallet and they set- back the interior leather divider so that one side easily accommodates my oversized wallet and also changed the color combination and strap length. I usually order by phone so I can request color choices and changes I would like. Their web site (Roche dot com) shows the wide variety of styles, sizes, and leather choices. And ....... right now, I feel like supporting California businesses.

I have a few. I like them. I had a tote I used for work that I wore out. I got the monies worth! I have been gifted a few travel accessories that have held up nicely. One of my friends mom said "a proper lady carries a Brahim handbag" when I think of her I smile. She gave me a hankie that I carry in my planner. Such wonderful memories

Back in the day, when you shopped in shopping malls, there was a large Brahmin store in my mall.

Every time I walked by, it looked like a brightly lit store filled with plastic handbags. I didn't get it. How could this store pay the rent?

One day I walked in to learn something about the company and was shocked to learn the handbags were patent leather, not plastic.

The prices surprised me. I opened and inspected several, but wasn't impressed ... at all.

I would have purchased a Tignanello over a Brahmin any day of the week ... back when Tig bags were all leather.

I'm very fussy when it comes to handbags, so I just assumed this is someone else's purse. Never bought one.

I have had a few but now only have two, I donated the others to a designer bag sale a few years ago. I loved them but just don't have a need for them any longer. They are the type of bag that stands out when one carries it. The library made some money on them so I was thrilled to see them go to a new home.

My bag of choice for several years has been Brighton, they will recondition or repair any registered bag you have if you send it to them, when it comes back to you it is like new. The store I buy from automatically registers my purchase, they are perfect for my forgetful mind!

@Tinkrbl44. Ive never seen a Brahmin bag that looked cheap or like patent leather. They're hardly in the same class as Tig bags. Are you sure we're talking about the same thing?

Brahman bags typically use a very realistic textured mock croc leather.

Here's a typical Brahmin bag. Lots of colors choices and note the price.

Yes, I'm SURE they were Brahmin bags. Many looked like stiff, shiny plastic with ridiculous pricing.

The clerk was trying to convince me how wonderful the handbags were, but I just didn't think they were anything special. I examined several bags.
