NO OUTSIDE POUCH?

I always look for an outside pouch...even two zippered or not for my phone and tissues. I notice the Nash and D&B bags rarely have a phone pouch on the outside of the bag.

Is that a necessity for you?

@Shanus Good morning. Yes, an outside pocket on a bag is a must for me. I don't like throwing everything into the main compartment of my bags. I like an outside pocket for my keys and sunglasses and anything I need to grab quickly. I dislike "digging" for items.

I want quick access to my phone as well as my sunglasses/readers.

ALL my Patricia Nash bags have outside pockets!

She is the one that got me hooked on having one a must.

Once I started using her bags, it became very clear that no outside pocket is a deal breaker on my every day use bags.

I do have some small 'fancy' bags from other brands that do not have them.

None of my Dooneys do....and that is why they are sitting in the closet unused.

I only like flat zippered or slip pockets on the outside. I don't own any bags with attached pouches.

I prefer a bag with a clean finish and no sewed on pouches. I don't care for the look.

I once bought a bag with pouch pockets to take to Europe with me because I thought it would be practical, but the closure on the pouch pockets kept getting caught in my clothing. It ruined a few really nice summer sweaters...so I donated it as soon as I got home.

Nope, don't care either way. An outside pouch or lack of doesn't reflect on if I buy it or not. I go for size (small. 6x9 is more than enough), quality and looks. I only carry a few items and don't carry my husbands junk. As long as it fits a phone, keys, small credit card case, chapstick I'm good.

I don't want exterior pockets, all my bags must have key finders for my car keys and I do not keep my phone in an exterior pocket because I have my I.D. and bank card in my phone case.

The only kind of outside pocket I like is a very discreet slip pocket for my phone. Not into cargo bags.

For me an outside pouch is a total no. They can catch on things and just look Ike an add on afterthought.

Now slip pockets and other pockets are fine. Can also do totally without any external things, just internal.

No outside slip pocket is a deal breaker for me. It needs to be big enough to house the phone safely but not too big. I cannot stand having to fight getting my phone in or out of the pocket when the whole idea is for quick access.

Most shoulder bags I can quickly bypass because there is no organization available.

Slip case or external pouch with a strong closing magnet for the phone is a must for quick easy access. Similarly, one for my lipstick and nail file is also a necessity. I don't want to spend my time fussing with accessing the internal segments of the shoulder bag.

Three segments are the best with one zippered and the other two magnet closers. Along the front and back walls there needs to be sections for different width items. I have tacked flexible and/or plastic narrow eyeglass holders to the front and back walls where necessary. My house keys are attached to a long flexible cord and looped through the o-ring holding the strap to the purse. It can easily be accessed to pull out of the front or back segment when I need to unlock the door. The car fob is hung from a cord suspended from the other o-ring.

When I find a shoulder bag that meets this criteria, I buy it...there aren't that many obviously!

Organization is probably my middle name...or should be !

Yes it is!! The purse I'm currently carrying does not have an outer pocket but does have a larger inside pocket where I can quickly store my phone or retrieve it. I also require 2 or 3 other inside pockets for Keys, Tissues and some other items. I can rule a purse out immediately if it doesn't have enough inside/outside pockets.

Yes, it's a necessity for me. I have several Dooney bags from the early nineties that I no longer use because they don't have outside pockets.

Agree 100%. Will not buy a bag without outside compartments, at least one, but preferably two. Besides one for phone, I keep coupons, notes with questions for doctors, receipts, appointment cards, grocery lists, writing paper in another. Its like my file folder or in box.

An outside pocket or pouch isn't a deal breaker for me. I don't really want one. None of my LV bags have outside pockets and it doesn't bother me. Guess that's why there are lots of styles to choose from.

Yes I must have a outside pocket for my phone and and prefer another outside pocket for my eyeglass cleaner cloth, gum, grocery shopping list etc. I also prefer bags with RFID protection. I stopped buying dooney's because no outside pocket big enough for my phone and no RFID. I do have a old dooney that has a outside pocket but not big enough for my newer phone. I don't care for Nash bags, don't like those prints or engraved bags.

I don't like outside pockets either. Outside pockets will not work for me.
