I love a new handbag now and again and am curious; what is the most money you're comfortable with spending on it?

We had this topic a couple of weeks ago. For me $60 would be the top end, if that. Baggallini is my favorite and I usually buy from the website when it has sales and/or free shipping. For me, a handbag is not a "fashion" statement but purely functional.

I have spent $50 on a handbag, and would go up to $75-80 if it's one I wanted. I wouldn't spend more than $100, since I always look for sales.

When I was working and viewed my bags as accessories, my limit was $200 on sale, period. Now that I've been retired 10 years, my lifestyle has become very casual and low profile, so the few handbags I've purchased are much smaller, lighter, and in the $100 and under price range.

Depends: Brand, expected life of bag, comfortable and fits my needs, etc. I look at the overall value, not the $$ amount.

I have spent $1500 and more on a handbag. I would say most of my bags are at the $300 to $500 mark. I have a lot of bags, a whole lot.

I am now at the place where I don't need any more and haven't bought a new one in about five years...I don't intend to, but I have come close to buying a few times.

I have always liked bags and have carried one every day since I was around 10 years old....it was leather and not cheap. I got it for Christmas.

I also had an alligator bag and matching shoes when I was maybe 8 years old. I started young.

I could spend about any amount I want but I'm not into handbags. It's just not my thing to carry some sort of designer bag. The most important thing is how the bag functions as far as organization and then, of course, I would like for it to look nice....or at least halfway decent. LOL!

I will tell (confess) my overspending handbag story from many years ago that actually has paid off in the end. I went temporarily crazy, I guess, and ordered four different colors of a Bruce Makowsky bag that was on QVC. This was fifteen years ago or so. They were on sale but still as I recall they were around $125.00 a piece. 😲 My husband never really complains but he did wonder aloud to me why did I buy so many! I then felt bad about it. BUT, I still to this day carry those bags day in and day out. The four different colors work for each season and I just rotate them out. They still look great! And luckily the function of the bag is perfect for me and I have not tired of them one bit...thank goodness! I have more then gotten my money out of those purses.

But to answer your question, for one handbag I would seldom go over around $150.00....would much prefer spending half that amount. Generally most of the bags I've owned over my lifetime have cost between $50.00 and $100.00.

I just purchased a Brighton Jordyn organizer in olive which cost $455.00. My limit is around $500.00.

I like a good quality bag but I'm not into buying a designer bag.

I can't see myself spending more than $500 for a handbag. I do have LV bags but my bff gifted me with them, she wasn't carrying them.

I really love handbags, really good ones. In the past I would go upto $1500. Now those that were $1500 are now over $2500 and I won't spend that much. I still look at them, but that's about it.

@BoopOMatic, I had to hunt but I did find a pic of one. I will say the bag definitely looks better in person. And now this might not be anyone else's cup of tea but they sure have worked for me. As I said I got four colors...black, yellow, taupe, and white. Even the white still looks pretty good. It has one little tiny stain on it that I can't get out.

Maybe $25-$30. All I need is something to match or coordinate with my outfit and hold my stuff. Usually I go to a local Goodwill and make a purchase for under $15. When you see me betcha you will not even notice.
