Metallics have made another resurgence . First seen in 1930's by film stars Jean Harlow and Joan Crawford . Were popular again in 1970's , who can forget the Disco craze.

Then again in 1990's with metallic colors and geometric patterns.

So, like animal prints they resurface in popularity ever so often. I hold on to some good vintage pieces to give a 2nd life to.

It's been a while since I posted here, but I wanted to add my two cents regarding metallic handbags. They are indeed enjoying a resurgence right now, but I also think that they are always in style. I have a metallic bag by Gigi New York, a great accessory company based in Long Island. The model I have is the Chelsea Crossbody in the color Platinum. The strap can be detached so the bag can also be used as a clutch. Very versatile - can be worn with jeans or a cocktail dress. Below is a photo of my Chelsea, paired with my Bzees Niche canvas flats for a summer casual look. As a FYI, Gigi New York handbags are genuine leather and made in the USA.

I don't think I have any metallic bags, but I do have several pairs of metallic shoes ... actually several pairs of identical metallic shoes.

LandsEnd water shoes - silver metallic. Everytime the silver in my size is on sale, I buy another pair. I think at the moment, I have five pairs.

In cleaning out my closet , while looking for items to donate to Purple Heart, I came across an old all leather crossbody bag that was metallic silver and bronze with clear rhinestones on it . Really a unique purse still in the original designer labeled cloth bag . I must have purchased the bag abt 15- 20 years ago . Will likely donate it as Purple Heart might fetch a nice penny for it since they sell the items that are donated .

Also, will you be rocking your lovely cerise red Louis Vuitton purse this holiday season? I still think about your purse sometimes- its such a great silhouette with a lovely glossiness to the leather and a really great eye catching, elegant red that is perfect for any occasion and can be worn as a pop of color or even as a neutral!

@SportyShorty07 Gigi New York indeed has a great selection of handbags in a variety of colors/leathers - there's something for everyone. I'll definitely look for a Gigi New Yourk purse or wallet next year- they're a very nicely designed brand and I love learning about different handbag brands, That is so stylish to pair your cerise red Louis Vuitton purse with grey and black outfits for the holidays! @SportyShorty07 , Many thanks for the heads up on the UD Black Friday sale! I actually have the "Weho" shade, which is a lovely light to medium pink. The other shade "Flower District" is a very pretty coral. The shades you purchased will definitely compliment metallic accessories too 😀

@MissRose722 Absolutely! I was so excited when I saw the Urban Decay sale because $10 for lipstick is such a good deal. Thank you very much for the kind compliments on my lipstick color choices . Isn't the "Weho" shade such a pretty pink? I bet you look great in it! It brightens my mood when I wear it and I like how it has enough depth to it so that it doesn't look too pale. The shade "Floral District" is such a fun coral- I have a coral silk blouse that I plan to wear with it! I have the shade "Art Walk" which is a super pretty deep warm pink- I feel like its kind of a retro pink that makes me feel like one of the original Charlie's Angels when I wear it since I have Farrah's feathered long haircut . You are spot on about these lipsticks pairing nicely with metallics- so stylish .
