Isn't polyurethane vegan?

polyurethane can be a leather substitute...

I wouldn't spend that on a purse right now, but regardless of whether it is made of real leather or poly.....it still takes a lot of work to make a handbag.

I have seen Vera and Dooney bags all made from cloth and coated cotton and they cost as much.

I have an Isaac navy blue leather clutch, it's a very good quality bag.

Just looked it up in my Amazon orders-purchased in 2016 for $24.99. That was a lucky find. I still use it and it still looks new.

Is "vegan leather" the new way of saying pleather? Or vinyl? Plastic? I've never heard anything being called vegan leather before.

Yes @eaesquire , "vegan leather" is the newest elevated way to say pleather, a synthetic material. That price is rather surprising., I guess there are some who might buy it, vegan folks maybe, bet it is waterproof and stain proof! But I think I heard it tends to peel over time- I don't own any...

Oh and don't forget another eleven or so to ship it. Ridiculous. And don't be fooled by the 'vegan' nonsense. Once and only once I paid top dollar for a 'vegan leather' bag and it peeled just like many other vinyl bags. Face it, fake leather is fake leather and there's nothing wrong with it, but there's no reason to pay a lot more for it than it's worth either. I remember when Issac made nice leather bags for QVC but then not much about QVC seems to be what it used to be.

Vegan, vinyl, plastic, pleather.....whatever they call it are bags that will probably not last in the long run. Nothing wrong with owning one, but watch out leaving them in direct sun light. The light colored ones that are immitating patent leather will absorb dark colors and there's no way to get it out of the vinyl..... the blue in jeans transferring is common. As a matter of fact real patent leather will do the same thing. If you love the "Vegan" bag and want to own it, go for it but many of them will degrade relatively quickly, even if you take good care of them. Just a warning

I purchased leather handbags for a good 20 years and probably everyone one of them started to crumble--thus they got tossed and I was off to buy a new one.

However, I look for anything that's not made of leather, lambskin, calf hair or puppy ears.

I don't hate plastic, or pleather, or polyeurathane and will pay a good price if it's what I'm looking for.

I looked at IMs bag, it's nice, I like the quilting, the option of shoulder straps and it looks like the (useless) handles can be removed. But it has his name on it, so it's a no go.

Technically, not all pleather bags are supposed to be called vegan. Vegan leather is supposed to be earth friendly, however I think it is mistakenly used to describe all fake leather.
