When Are You Getting Out Your Main Fall Handbag?

I am not a handbag collector, and use a main handbag for during the week, occasionally changing to another bag for a "Girl's lunch.

Our temps are jumping around 75-79 degrees, on an odd day 80 degrees, so we are beginning to drop back.

I am washing all of the white pants and putting them back. The white handbag will follow them. It's too bright with what I am putting together now.

Here in Florida I don't really have seasonal clothing or purses like I did up north. Actually the first time I wore white pants after Labor Day I could almost hear my mom gasping 🫢😅

Sometimes I miss the obvious change of seasons that I'm used to.

I'm not firm on the no white after Labor Day school of thought. As it is still hot and humid, I will probably wait to switch out my white bag sometime in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, bags were my weakness, although I seldom indulge now unless I find a bargain buy! I use black in the winter but will probably bring out my navy or grey bag in the interim. I have a few more than I need but I always donate them so someone else can enjoy them.

I just ordered my mom a nice Liz Claiborne shoulder bag in a dark brown leather. She loves Liz bags and switches for all seasons at 79yrs young. I on the other hand, will carry the same bag until it falls apart lol.

It still gets in the 90s here, and that can happen at least through September. I'll probably switch around mid-October.

The bag I am carrying now is gray, so it's seasonless. If I don't find a fall bag I love, I might just stick with this one for everyday. I do have a collection of bags and I usually change based on what I need to carry that day.

I do switch my clothes around in my closet/dresser for the season but I won't do that until I'm well into wearing fall clothes everyday. Then I make sure to wash all the summer laundry and switch the drawers around so fall winter are on top, spring summer on the bottom.

I have a new Dooney lizard tote that I am itching to use. So I may switch out after Labor Day. I have been using a Dooney nylon satchel (khaki) for summer and I like it very much, but that new lizard tote is just so pretty!

When I moved, the movers lost a covered plastic bin that had my handbags in it. I very rarely use the only handbag I have left.

I live in Atlanta. We will be hot for months still. September is always hot here. And October will still be warm. Like peak leaf colors are usually 1st week in November.

My purses are all in one place. I pretty much carry what I want whenever I want. I did just buy a Brahmin though that is definitely fall colors. I won't carry that for quite awhile.

OMG @smoochy I may live in Texas now but grew up and lived for years in NJ I still can't wear white pants after Labor Day even if its 90. My Mother, bless her heart would be rolling in her grave and my guilt would be to much to bare. 😂

I don't care what fashion mavens say, and feel free to tell me how ridiculous I am but it's a connection to my late Mom.

In Arizona we don't go by seasons. We wear white any time of the year. I wear black in the summer. I carry a black purse (it's more of a wristlet that has a crossbody strap. Hammitt Nash) any time of the year. I stopped carrying a larger purse. I started carrying a wristlet with a crossbody strap as my bag and found It works just fine as my purse. I don't carry much. Just a phone, keys, credit card wallet and a few small things. A wristlet works fine for me. It will be warm until October and like I said, Labor Day doesn't mean the end of summer here nor is Memorial Day the beginning of summer.

When the mood strikes me...could be sometime in September or October. Here in souteastern, PA it will usually stay warm until Halloween.

If it's hot out I will continue to wear sandals. I have seen some who were impatient to wear new fall things and were wearing leather boots while I'm still in my sandals.

I change my purses every week, usually Mondays, though sometimes it's twice a week or whenever. Never daily. And I carry what I want to carry. Unless I'm going somewhere "special" I don't coordinate with outfits.

And I don't have like a "main" seasonal purse.

What's a fall handbag? I use the same handbags all year depending on my outfit, not according to the seasons.
