Water bottle - how to carry in your handbag?

If you have a secret as to how to always carry a water bottle in your handbag, would you share it please? I have bought 3 Lug bags only because each one has a pouch on one side to perfectly fit a water bottle. But I'd really like to again use some of my leather bags. For me, it's a problem because I always take a very COLD water bottle and plop it in my handbag, but it sweats and makes parts of the handbag wet.

What am I doing wrong?

I carry one with me a lot. I usually just prop it standing up on one side. I put something like a scarf inside along with my other things to hold it up. Years ago I carried take out sodas like this too. Never had a spill! Of course I'm aware it's there, and I carry my bag gingerly.

Can you find an insulated snuggie that you can slip the water bottle into? My bank gave me a thin foam one with a little zipper that works beautifully. Try Amazon or Ebay.

p.s. I checked Amazon and there are a gazillion, look up: water bottle cover sleeve

I may give some for Christmas.

Years ago (maybe 15-20), at a NYC street fair - I bought a mesh water bottle carrier. Sort of like a long narrow cross-body sack made of mesh.

I keep meaning to crochet some of the sacks to go with what I'm wearing .... just another thing I haven't managed to do!

I always use a Yeti. Our family loves those things and I feel like we save lots of plastic bottles. We have a reverse osmosis system for drinking water and I fill the Yeti with that. I have the lid with a sliding closure and it doesn't spill easily. Other brands make similar containers in more bottle format that are leakproof and none of these things ever sweat. They are great!

Now would be a great time to stop buying plastic water bottles that can no longer be recycled (even though they say they are, no one is buying it) and invest in a good stainless steal bottle. They do not sweat.

I have a stainless steel Contigo Chug and I don't think it sweats. I keep it in the fridge and it keeps things cold. They have other options for tops other than the Chug.

Another vote for Yeti; my family are Yeti converts. In addition to tumblers and mugs we bought "faux" Yeti coolers (Ozark Trail brand) that keep our Ha agen Daas ice cream bars frozen from Costco back to our home (3 hrs, sometimes in August).

i have a Contigo stainless bottle that is 20 oz (i think) and i put a whole bunch of ice cubes in it and fill it the rest of the way with my iced tea. it does not sweat or leak at all. i do keep it upright, however. sometimes it sits on the counter overnight and if i've left any ice in it, the ice is still there in the morning. it keeps your drinks COLD

Another vote for a stainless insulated water bottle. I also use the Yeti brand. Besides no sweat, your water will stay ice old longer.

FOr look at the various Lug bags which have a pocket on the side meant for water bottles. A stainless bottle will fit in most. Some even have insulated pockets.

I purchase the 1/2 size bottles. Wash out and reuse. They fit fine. I can always refill them at water fountain if needed.

I bought several little 9 oz. insulated SS water bottles from Amazon about 3 years ago & they're a nice size to go in my purse. The brand is Anature.

@spent2much Some leather bags have a pouch on each side but hard to come buy. Purchase a leather tote and get one with a pocket on the back. Or, if your leather bag is big enough toss inside or in an outside pocket. The leather bag I just purchased has a pocket the width of the bag on the outside.

another vote for the Contigo stainless steel mugs. Got mine years and years ago at the Q. Really keeps ice water cold. I know TJMaxx / Marshall’s carries them. I didn’t check the Q now. Still my favorite mug, does not sweat or leak.

Looks like Kohls and Target carries them, always some discount at Kohl’s.
