First Dooney Purchase

This weekend I purchased my first designer handbag and it is a Dooney. I bought the Hobo Bag - Gracie. I have never spent that much on a handbag but was having trouble finding something that worked for me. I hope I love it!

Although I ahve owned a couple of Dooney's and a few other designer bags, I also took the leap on the Gracie this weekend!! I got the eggplant color that I will carry this fall/winter. I would not have done it had it not been for the easy pay. Plus, this bag had my three rules for purses

1) Silver hardware

2) Single strap

3) No pockets or dividers

I'm so happy for you! I hope you enjoy your bag. I stopped buying them as I got older and they got heavier and heavier for me to carry I did, however, purchase this one on a recent trip to Disney World. I think it's going to be a new addiction for me - Disney character Dooney's. I can pass them down to my Granddaughter.

I hope you really love your new Dooney hobo bag. I like that style. Heck....not going to lie. I like almost every Dooney style with a couple of exceptions. I caught the Dooney bug a few weeks back. I get good prices on them (a couple at the Dooney outlet recently), so have more than I should have. ENJOY!!

Well my first Dooney arrived and I'm not sure that I like it. It seems heavy and hard to get into. I really need to get rid of a lot of things that I carry around with me, maybe that will help. I will try it for a couple of weeks and if I still don't like it I will send it back. Too expensive to keep if I'm not going to use it. Still waiting on the Oryany bag, maybe I will like that one better.

I don't know the Gracie bag -- except I really like it. If you want more room, check out the Zip Zip. It's like a bottomless pit.

Well my first Dooney is being returned today. I used it for about a week and yesterday part of the shoulder strap broke! Needless to say I am very disappointed. For the price this just shouldn't happen. I should receive the Oryany bag tomorrow and hopefully I will have better luck with that bag.

Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I have never had that happen to a Dooney, but you must've gotten one that was just not done correctly. What a bummer!

If you love like that hobo feel of the Sophie you may look at the Juliette; it’s roomier.

It’s my favorite DB and I have it in several different colors. If you check it out on ilovedooney they have a much better color selection than QVC.

@BriggsiePeawiggle I returned the first bad and ordered the zip zip. Today is the first day using it and I think I love it. I had also ordered the Orany bag and like that too so I guess I will have to keep them both! Thanks for the suggestion.

I think the zip zip is my favorite. I just wish it had an outside pocket for my mobile phone, but I deal with it. LOL. I just used the large satchel with 2 zip pockets for a trip I had to take. It was nice to have all the space, but it's not as "firm" in shape as the zip zip which is soooooo cute.

Congratulations. What color did you get?

@BriggsiePeawiggle I am enjoying the zip zip a lot. I do wish there was a small pocket on the outside for my phone. Of course I got the black. I may go out of my comfort zone next time and get a color. I think I am hooked!

Black will serve you well. I have the French Blue (which is currently hard to find). It was my first D&B which I bought a couple months ago. Then I got a yellow one. I love them both. Today I am carrying my Key Lime Crossbody. LOVE MY D&Bs.

Since I love the zip zip so much I took the plunge and ordered the Lexington Shopper in caramel on Saturday. I hope I like it as much as the zip zip. I think I may be hooked!
