Backorder . But still available?

I placed order yesterday. Was processing now I checked and Backordered . Thing is item still available, went right to place order page to see. Not sure what's up, if still available why Backorder?? I haven't had a Backorder in a long time , but I see others have .

I have never had a backorder item NOT show up. They always do....just delayed

@Kitty Galore have you called CS? Maybe one came back in stock and they can ship it to you now, or maybe the system is messed up and although it says available, if you try to check out it may not be available.

@DJs mom yes I guess I should contact cs to see what's up . Maybe if I continued checking out it would have stated not available.

As suggested you can call CS but I would imagine just because you see it showing up doesn't mean it's actually available. Sometimes you can put it in your cart then go to check out and it shows as sold out. And, I have read this from other posters although I haven't experienced it yet, an item goes straight to backorder after purchasing it.

I would imagine it is one of the above cases but doesn't hurt to give CS a call if you need the item sooner than you may receive it.

I've seldom had a backorder show up. Clearly, everyone's experience is different and I suppose it depends on the actual item. My last backordered item that got canceled after a long delay was the Bare Minerals TSV.

And just yesterday my Jimmy the Baker A/D order went to backorder. I simply canceled it myself rather than mess around waiting. (They've had three months to prepare to ship it on time.)

I've also recently had A/D items canceled with no notice or explanation.

Things don't seem to be very reliable lately.
