Items do NOT Stay In Cart 1 Hour

Put an item in my cart, checked the time, went to look at 2 more items, went back to cart to check out and cart was empty, my item was no longer available.

Thanks for nothing QVC.

According to the time I wrote down, it was less than 20 minutes later that I went back and cart was empty.

Is the item still available? I would guess that if it sells out in less than an hour, it would automatically be removed from the cart?

If other customers are ready to complete their checkout, the items are removed from the cart & sold to them.

It's my understanding that an item only stays in your cart as long as no one else wants it before you decide to check out.

Isn't that why host a repeatly tell viewers not to wait and to check out? It's not just a sales tactic. I think quantities are limited. Host often tell viewers that also. Less inventory is being bought.

No retailer should wait on a maybe sale when a sure thing is ready to hit the button.

If it's something you really want I would check again to see if it's available. Sometimes sales don't go through an items return to inventory

Items stay in your cart for one hour. They are not SAVED for you for an hour. You must purchase them to keep them. Hosts constantly tell viewers to check out because someone can snatch it from you.

In all fairness to QVC, they will not want to HOLD something for you when another customer will BUY it. Also, almost all other online retailers do the same.

The message in the cart (checked just now) says this:

Cart items will be held for the next hour.

They should change the message (or remove it) if that's not what they mean.

@santorini Yes, they are being HELD in your cart, not SAVED for you exclusively.

If you are shopping, adding to your cart, the items are held for an hour before checking out. If you do not check out within an hour the items are moved to your SAVED items. Again, just because it says SAVED doesn't mean they are reserved for you.

They are not always saved for an hour nor do I expect them to be. I put things in my cart, get side tracked and sometimes go back 30 minutes later and they are no longer there. No big deal to me because if I would have wanted it that bad, I would hhave completed the purchase. waiting to add more to your cart doesn't save you anything so the easiest thing is if you want something, complete the purchase at the time.

I always check the next morning if I lose out on something. People cool down and change their minds, or their credit cards bounce.

I've always found things in my cart stay there for an hour and then maybe be gone if I don't Check out. Now though I can have an item I my chart and in a few minutes it can say " item sold out ". And it's gone from my cart just like that ! I may be trying to put an outfit together and trying to find the top or pant thst goes and it leaves no time to do that now with this new policy . And it IS new !!

@cjm61 yes that is the way it used to be not any longer though , it doesn't do the saved option any longer automatically I've found .

I am in agreement that if things are sitting in cart with no activity they should be removed if it has been an hour. However, in the last couple weeks watching Kim' show and I try to match up tops and bottoms and several times I get my outfits together and go to check out only to find they were removed.

The time frame may have been 15 min if that. So instead of buying the 4 pieces I bought nothing.

again, agree if cart is inactive you should give folks time at least 1/2 hr before you remove it. Because I try to match items. Otherwise since you also quickly mark things are preparing to ship and I can't cancel if I can't make an outfit - which is why I don't order until I create an outfit.
